SATAN CROSS VS. KINNIKUMAN

TN: OK, it's hard for me to say that this chapter continued the incredible build-up we've had to the climax of Suguru vs. Satan Cross...but was I the only one disturbed by what Meat pulled there? Considering how Suguru has faced many bad or worse things than being tossed into a Triangle Dreamer, why would he suddenly get offended by Satan Cross? Was he offended by the sick nature of the parasite...or was he angry at Samson Teacher being a coward in the face of losing his legs due to disobeying the parasite (and thus disobeying Phoenix?) Meat's seen so much that to be disgusted by this really...well, it just felt weird.

But on the other hand, the climax of the chapter I actually originally probably thought was going to be worse than it was...but it actually turned out in a way that felt silly...but worked. By this point we know that Samson Teacher is still working with the parasite...but not just to help Phoenix win, but to not lose the mobility he lost in that moment he saved the young Ashuraman. Thinking it over, somehow Samson Teacher is starting to come into my mind a bit like Willem Dafoe as he depicted the Green Goblin in the first Spider-man movie: he hates the Goblin and wants to get rid of it but "it is his friend", giving him everything he wants at a cost of his own sanity. Samson Teacher hates what he has become and can't remove his kind, caring, brave nature...but is too cowardly to defy Satan Cross since losing it means losing his legs again. But when the parasite threw the Demon World Swamp sheet at Meat and Samson Teacher went in to save him, it felt to me like the breaking point has finally been reached: Samson Teacher has finally realized what he has become and is willing to get hurt or defeated if only to eliminate the monster he has become. He may still have doubts but he knows who he is now and working with the parasite is more a formality of keeping Phoenix happy. And next time...he'll finally get impaled by his glid...er, becoming the first true victim of the Perfect Muscle Spark!
