Scramble for the Kinniku Throne (82): The Ominous Prediction!!
-> RTS Page for Kinnikuman 355
Even though Prisman himself can't use his Rainbow Shower anymore, that doesn't mean Ramenman can't use the Rainbow Shower that nearly killed him to get back at him! But will this match finally end with Ramenman victorious!?
Chapter 355: Scramble for the Kinniku Throne (82): The Ominous Prediction!!
27.
New Choujin (Clockwise from top left):
FISHINGMAN
GREAT HURRICANE
CATCHMAN
SAMURAI
OMEGAMAN
28.
Announcer: Ramenman has turned the Capillaria toxins he’s driven out from his own body by Pyramid Power into a Rainbow Shower, which he is conversely pouring onto Prisman----!!
Suguru: How—skilled!! With that, he devised to rehabilitate his body and can attack an opponent with Pyramid Power: it’s two birds with one stone!!
Robin: Further, since Prisman himself hasn’t been showered with the Rainbow Shower until now, it’s quite effective on him.
Announcer: The Choujin of Team Phoenix had prided their immortality, but we can guess from this damage that Prisman won’t be getting up just now!!
29.
Suguru: Ramenman, now’s your chance: if you present one more blow to Prisman, you’ll win!!
Announcer: Ramenman has landed into the jungle gym ring once again---!!
Announcer: …And is getting a tad closer towards Prisman, of whom he must deliver a finisher!!
Prism: Awawa…
Mammoth: N…no: that Prisman is intending to run away but can’t move his body.
Phoenix: Mumu………
Phoenix: ………!!
30.
Phoenix: Prisman, listen carefully----!!
Prism: Phoenix-sama.
Phoenix: I don’t have expectation that you will defeat Ramenman anymore! However, if you yourself don’t want a pathetic way of death that will give you scorn from your allies, then move your body to the just-one different color pipe square in the top section right now-----!!
Prism: A...different colored pipe…?
31.
Prism: There…
Prism: Haa haa
Announcer: So…somehow Prisman is moving while baring that much damage---!!
Announcer: But the chasing Ramenman is faster than the running Prisman---!!
Prism: No…good…
32.
Announcer: Ramenman is facing the energy-exhausted Prisman with a Flying Knee Drop!!
Phoenix: What’s wrong—you rather have that pathetic death---!?
Prism: I…can’t have—this pathetic death---!!
33.
Mammoth: He did it: he’s on the different-colored square.
Phoenix: You’ve done well, Prisman!!
Announcer: We…we—ll, somehow there suddenly is a disaster occurring to the jungle gym----!!
Ramen: Uwa!!
34.
Announcer: All of the pipes are making a sound and are collapsing except for the block section Prisman is on---!!
Ramen: Aah!!
Phoenix: Ha—hahahaha!
Robin: That Phoenix: he prepared a trick to collapse the jungle gym for the moment Prisman became inferior from the start!!
Suguru: Thus, that different-colored pipe block Prisman is on was originally a safety zone!!
35.
Announcer: Ramenman’s body has been stabbed into the nail boards completely spready around the outside of the ring---!!
Suguru: RAMENMAN!!
Mayumi: Ooh—a teammate of Suguru’s group got himself hurt due to a scheme of Team Phoenix once again while holding victory before their eyes…
Sayuri: Aah, this many Choujin have been hurt to this point in this boggy death-match where the Throne is wagered for Suguru and Phoenix; how long is this going to continue…
Mayumi: That’s right: if we knew whether Team Kinnikuma or Team Phoenix wins this tournament, then we can end this blood-stench battle immediately. Its better that we have revealed the king on the team that takes the championship.
36.
Mayumi: Until now, the Prophecy has hit the mark 100% perfectly on the predictions of Planet Kinniku such as the Six Fated Princes holding the survival match which is bet the Throne of Planet Kinniku and that Nagoya Castle and Himeji Castle would fuse becoming the Fighting Castle.
Mayumi: …With it’s perfection until now, if we can predict what will happen from here, it’s possible that the Prophecy will have written in it the champion team of this Scramble for the Throne Survival Match…
Sayuri: It is possible.
Mayumi: There’s a scared worry in knowing the result but…this is the only way so we won’t have to hurt the Choujin on both teams…
Mayumi: ……N!?
37.
Mayumi: Here we go: “A Description Regarding the Champion of the Scramble for the Kinniku Throne War”.
Sayuri: It seems like it’s on that page…
Mayumi: …Ah…yes.
Mayumi: “…When the Six Fated Princes is finally squeezed down to two…a disaster will occur to the Fake Prince—“
Sayuri: Th…thus, some disaster will occur to either Suguru or Phoenix during the Scramble for the Throne Survival Match Finals; this disaster that will occur is for the fake Great King candidate.
38.
Sayuri: But what is this disaster that will occur to the Fake Prince?
Mayumi: Well, that’s written next…”A Description Regarding the Disaster of the Fake Prince…the disaster that will occur to the aforementioned Fake Prince is…”
Mayumi: U…uo…
Mayumi: I…it’s---what a prank of destiny!!
Announcer: Has Ramenman died: he can’t even move suddenly---!!
Audience: AAH
Phoenix: He—y, Prisman, let’s make sure. Throw a finisher once more on Ramenman!!
39.
Phoenix: The death of a Justice Choujin isn’t a thing that we can’t hope for, since it will be intolerable saying he’ll miraculously revive and turning this around into a loss.
Prism: Yes sir, Phoenix-sama!!
Robin: Stop—it’s unforgivable to hurt Ramenman any further!!
Robin: …N!?
Robin: THE PYRAMID CREATED BY RAMENMAN…IT’S SHORT TWO PIPES!
Robin: Suppose that Ramenman!!
40.
Prism: Die—Ramenman, this here will be your grave---!!
Announcer: Prisman is falling with the stance of a Flying Body Press, which should deliver the finisher to Ramenman---!!
Robin: Ramenman, Prisman is falling down---!! 15 meters left---!!
Suguru: What’s wrong, Robin: why are you talking to Ramenman’s corpse!!
Robin: Ramenman didn’t die---!!
Ramen: HA—
Announcer: Ge—somehow Ramenman, who should have been run through the nail boards and died, has suddenly revived---!!
41.
Prism: Ge!?
Ramen: JIULONG CHENG DROP!!
Announcer: Ramenman has now destroyed Prisman into very small pieces with his instant returning-technique---!!
42.
Suguru: Aah! There are two pipes coming form Ramenman’s jumpsuit!!
Robin: Ramenman took out two pipes from the pyramid beforehand for his caution and inserted them into that suit. As a result, he’d be safe even if he fell on top of the nail boards!
Ramen: Fi…finally, Ashuraman and Brocken…and Buffaloman’s grudge has…been avenged…
Announcer: Ramenman has magnificently pulverized Prisman, but the suitable damage that remains really has taken him down!! The result makes this a tie with double-fighter knock out---!!
43.
Phoenix: Pr…Prisman’s defeat is completely me missing the baton...if I hadn’t given the command again for giving the finisher to Prisman there…n…no, it’s not just that…I forgot they had that ambush troop in Ashuraman while I had cornered Team Kinnikuman to that point in the underground labyrinth earlier…
Phoenix: Why am I saying that? On my tongue there’s…
Phoenix: …Blood!!
“Cloaked” Here you go, Phoenix-sama.
Phoenix: Ooh, Mysterious Partner.
“Cloaked”: In place of Satan Cross and Prisman, your regrets…
44.
Omega: Shall be cleared by me, Omegaman!!
Announcer: The last one of the three Mysterious Partners on Team Phoenix has finally taken off his veil---!!
Suguru: O…owa—another scary guy has emerged~~~!!
Suguru: Goho!!
Robin: I…isn’t that blood you’re vomiting up: are you alright Kinnikuman!?
45.
Mayumi: …………
Sayuri: …………
Mayumi: …The disaster that will occur to the Fake Prince is… “The Fake Prince has a dangerous seed within the viscera of his heart since he was born…this seed is a seed that cannot be removed utilizing any medical means; if he continues with this battle, this seed will increasingly become larger, before long taking the life of the Fake Prince----“ the Prophecy’s prediction ends there…In short: there is an inherent illness in the heart of the Fake Prince; and if he continues this battle as is, it will be connected to his death before long.
Mayumi & Sayuri: In any case, which has this prank of destiny: Suguru or Phoenix!?

(SCRAMBLE FOR THE KINNIKU THRONE ARC)
SPECIAL VTR LXX (XXXXXXX)
RAMENMAN VS. PRISMAN
TN: Well the time has come for another retrospective as we march towards the conclusion of the series...the weird thing is that after this fight, I was almost not going to do with for Ramenman. It really would have felt criminal not doing it for probably one of the coolest and most memorable Choujin in the series, one of Suguru's earliest rivals and probably one of the greatest and possibly most abused time and time again with everything he's been through. I mean, this is the guy whose first true fight had him tear Brockenman in half, probably one of the few notable "violent" moments in this series which became so tame later on! Heck, you probably can say that a lot of the most violent moments early in the series were very abusive...and always involved Ramenman, including his revenge match with Brocken Jr. and the incident that was one of the last truly gruesome moments in the series: Warsman gouging out Ramenman in the head leading to him to become a vegetable! (everything after that just seems so cartoonish as if Jump probably was forced to tone it down) But there was always this sort of sickness and cool at the same time with Ramenman around: he would always have the most amazing fights but there was always a sense of danger, that either him or his opponent were going to get hurt...and it was going to be brutal. Ramenman, particularly early on, was the perfect "noble savage", a Brutal Choujin who had honor and respect for the rules, who let everything out in the ring in killing intent but did so with class. Its sort of hard to really say what happened after but I guess that Ramenman's redemption came forth via two aspects: his massive popularity (thanks in part to his spinoff series "Tatakate! Ramenman" about...well, not him but his ancestor) and his transformation into the more enigmatic Mongolman by the Seven Devils arc. It was obvious with Ramenman's popularity that he wasn't going to be out of the series for long (they weren't pulling any more Brocken Jr's after the series essentially became more tame) but the way Mongolman was approached it just felt like a completely different person: Ramenman without the brutality. Probably his best fights by this point were all double teams for the most part: both his work with Suguru against Buffaloman and Springman, then in the Tag arc with both his fights with Buffaloman against the two Perfect Choujin teams. (Longhorn Train will always be one of the most epic attacks ever)
Of course, by the time Ramenman finally reappears as Ramenman in this arc, he just no longer feels like the same character he was way back when. Sure he is still a brutal fighter and gets excited by seeing blood (let alone can still Camel Clutch a guy to death like nothing), but he does feel like a completely different Choujin. It's like his popularity and "Tatakate! Ramenman" has forced him to becoming less a brutal fighter and more a beatstick who knows martial arts. Of course there's nothing wrong with Ramenman using martial arts as part of his fighting style considering his background. But sometimes there are just moments you can't even believe...like the "crying revival"...or the Pyramid Power in this fight cleaning him out of a deadly weapon that should have killed him. I still think Ramenman is probably one of the best fighters in this series but...I guess after seeing his brilliant tactic with using the pipes to stop his death (though it is sort of weird in that we still never quite got any rules defined about how the match ends with the nail boards considering that Ramenman didn't die hitting it and then was able to deliver the final blow), I wished we got a bit more out of this fight but...I guess there are some moments in the Throne that shows the Ramenman of old while others that show what popularity can do to a Choujin.
Moving along from another one of those, we've actually got the last major introduction Choujinwise in this chapter (yeah you'll be seeing the others soon enough...and one more "create a Choujin cover page", but this is "it" regards to new characters in the original Kinnikuman)...and it's sort of shocking that I finally figured out the truth regarding Omegaman and why he is like that. It finally hit me when I saw that this Choujin was created by two kids. That probably wouldn't mean much typically but basically I was able to put a few weird things together thanks to that:
1. Yudetamago sometimes combine Choujin concepts that are similar in order to create something that they can work with.
2. Choujin names can change based on how Yudetamago want to portray them...remember: Neptuneman was a combo of two Choujin, neither of whom was "Neptuneman" but had to take the name due to the concept of the tag arc. (though in that case it was a fusion of two Hulk Hogan-style Choujin concepts)
3. The mid-80s have become rather well documented so far in this arc...and there are two massive names in film that just had to influence Choujindom.
4. It has to be "evil" considering it will be on Team Phoenix.
And then it finally came together out of nowhere: OMEGAMAN = JASON VOORHEES + FREDDY KRUEGER! How cool is that: the two greatest icons of horror in the mid-80s influenced the creation of the final villain introduced in this series! I mean how else could that look come about...
Yeah there are other things to talk about but I guess the whole Omegaman reveal has left me a tad off track so maybe next time I'll get to them...unless it's just more of the same. (you know: Phoenix being a manipulative bastard, the Muscle Prophecy being annoying, etc, etc.)
