He's put up with everything from family matters to the pleas of his lover...but now, with the possibility that he may ultimately die, Suguru has entered the ring one last time to finally settle matters with Kinnikuman Super Phoenix...

Chapter 382: Scramble for the Kinniku Throne (109): Miraculous Revenge!

28.
Suguru: One of the Kamehame 52 Submissions: Capchude!!
(TN: The translation for this move in Japanese is “Hokakunage”, which translates into “capture throw”)
Announcer: Kinnikuman has captured Phoenix who had thrown as Flying Knee Pat, with his hands----!!
Meat: That technique Capchude is the ultimate suplex that piles improvement on improvement as a result of mixing the essence of all throwing techniques akin to the Back Drop, German Suplex and Brain Buster, making it absolutely impossible to escape---!!

29.
Mayumi: He’ll…bury him!!
Mayumi: From the timing, speed and height of Suguru’s fall, I’m certain he can skewer the back of Phoenix’s head into the canvas!
Suguru: Die—Phoenix, along with your ambition for ascending to the Throne of Planet Kinniku!!
Announcer: Will Phoenix somehow surrender to Kinnikuman in the short time of 3 seconds---!!
Meat: Ah—no; there’s an obstacle in the ring………!!

30.
Suguru: What!?
Mayumi: Isn’t that the corpse of Omegaman, who was defeated by Suguru’s Muscle Spark earlier---!!
Announcer: The Tournament Committee’s side has forgotten to clear away Omegaman’s corpse!!
Phoenix: PHOENIX MADNESS WAVE---!!

31.
Announcer: Phoenix’s hypnosis beam, which was sent out to bring to mind the image of Kamehame to Kinnikuman, is now being fired towards Omegaman’s corpse---!!
Phoenix: Now, Omegaman’s corpse! Prevent me from becoming skewered into the canvas---!!

32.
Suguru: Gee—the corpse revived; that’s ridiculous…!!
Announcer: Somehow just the hand section from the body of the already-dead Omegaman has revived due to Phoenix’s Madness Wave, rescuing Phoenix who had been thrown by Kinnikuman---!!
Phoenix: You don’t remember: the power of a god dwells in my body! It’s simple to temporarily breathe life to a corpse---!!
Announcer: Phoenix is falling, which should strike the top of Kinnikuman’s head into the ring---!!

33.
Phoenix: Kukuku…Kinnikuman, it’s no fun to merely strike your head into the ring…!
Phoenix: PHOENIX MADNESS WAVE---!!
Announcer: Phoenix is once again firing the madness wave towards the dead body---!!
Phoenix: Well, Omegaman’s corpse, I will be presenting Kinnikuman’s body now; meet it politely---!!
Suguru: Owa
Announcer: Taking Phoenix’s Madness Wave, Omegaman’s knees are standing---!!

34.
Announcer: Kinnikuman has crashed his head into Omegaman’s knees---!!
Phoenix: Once more!!
Bibimba: Suguru-sama~~!!
Phoenix: I’ll finish it!!
Suguru: Will I take a loss with this!

35.
Announcer: Just before he fell onto Omegaman’s knees, Kinnikuman has grabbed onto the knees with his hands, getting into a handstand and preventing his crash---!!
Announcer: Surely both fighters are appropriately going back and forth in attack and defense in this Scramble for the Throne final--!!
Audience: Great---!!

36.
Announcer: There is an emergence of thunderclouds, which is a premonition of the birth of a famous match, in the skies of Osaka Castle Panorama Ring---!!
Mayumi: That’s…eerie! Crows from out of nowhere…
Terry: Hurry! The finals of Kinnikuman and Phoenix’s Scramble for the Throne match is starting~~~!!
Ramen: We have to quickly get by Kinnikuman’s side to cheer for him---!!

37.
Choujin: Uwa
Malvia: Wh…what was that thunder now!?
Ramen: Lo…look—
Terry: Though there are the blue skies of clear weathers just here, thunderclouds are enshrouding just the skies of Osaka Castle!!

38.
Terry: And there are many house-clearing crows rotating around Osaka Castle, as if they’re seeking a dead body…
(TN: Yeah, Terry does refer to the crows as “house clearing”; the expression he uses is “seisouya”, with “seisou” being “cleaning” and “ya” being a type of house or shop; thus I tried as best I could to make it up)
Terry: Thunderclouds…crows…
Suguru: This battle…I’m certain that one of either Kinnikuman or Phoenix will die!
Wolf: What!?
Terry: It’s understood by those crows too…one Choujin, either Kinnikuman or Phoenix, is drawing near their death…!
Terry: We…have to hurry: if all of us don’t prevent just the death of Kinnikuman somehow---!!

39.
Harabote: Well—I’m sorry, Suguru-chan…my eyes were taken by this extremely heated battle and I forgot to unload Omegaman’s corpse.
Harabote: Again—Suguru-chan, even if you have that scary face…wasn’t it a little mistake…
Harabote: Well, Suguru-chan, please change your mood since I have this large serving of gyuudon …
Harabote: …!!

40.
Bibimba: Suguru-sama…
Harabote: Wh…what are you doing, Suguru-kun…!
Suguru: Chairman…this may clear up a mistake for you, but it affects victory or defeat for me…Somehow, chairman, from this point on in the battle of me and Phoenix…I want you to judge the advancement of this match with absolutely no mistake as tournament chairman and as referee!
Mayumi: Hey Suguru, I understand you’re angry, but you’re speaking a bit out of line to the chairman!
Suguru: I…know I’m speaking out of line! But there isn’t time ahead for me with Phoenix not being struck now!!

41.
Mayumi: That Suguru…in the past he’d have this composure where he’d be clumsy and stupid and we’d all have a laugh in every fight, yet in this fight with Phoenix, he has this stern expression that seemingly drifts to even tragic doing this stupid thing…
Meat: What exactly has driven Prince to here……
Bibimba: That’s the sound of Suguru-sama’s heart beating…!!

42.
Bibimba: Suguru-sama’s sternness and impatience with the match is from his symptoms of his heart disorder and bloody vomit…perhaps he may be uneasy that he may be the Fake Prince with the illness in his heart…
Bibimba: Aah~~If I hadn’t told him the story of that Prophecy, then Suguru-sama wouldn’t be this worried~~
Mayumi: Bibimba…
Bibimba: Forgive me, Suguru-sama~~!!
Phoenix: Kukuku…Omegaman’s corpse which had been forgotten to be cleaned away by the chairman will become an unthinkable tool for defeating Kinnikuman!
Suguru: A tool for defeating me?
Phoenix: Omegaman fell facing the assassin’s dagger of the Muscle Spark, your new special technique…Just with that, he died printing into his mind the extent of unpleasantness of the terror and pain of your Muscle Spark…

43.
Phoenix: The image of the technique printed in his mind must be there, even though he has died. Now I will use my Madness Wave and summon the image of the Muscle Spark printed in the mind of Omegaman…PHOENIX MADNESS WAVE!
Phoenix: Well, I see it: Omegaman’s full story on Kinnikuman’s Muscle Spark—
Announcer: Omegaman has raised the Muscle Spark to Omegaman’s mask---!!
Phoenix: Al—right, I’ve got the image of the Muscle Spark---!!

44.
Announcer: Omegaman’s mask is uniting with Phoenix’s face---!!
Phoenix: I see it: the full story of Kinnikuman’s Muscle Spark……!!
Suguru: Take that out—are you going to defeat the Muscle Spark, the crystallization of the blood and sweat of me and big bro Ataru, so easily---!!
Announcer: Kinnikuman is flipping up Phoenix high in the air with a bridge, which should be he’s entering the Muscle Spark---!!

45.
Phoenix: Kinnikuman, now I’ll show you this amusing thing.
Suguru: Owa—
Phoenix: FACE FLASH!!
Mayumi: Ge—continuing from Suguru, the Face Flash, which is said to be proof of the legitimate prince of Planet Kinniku, is being released by Phoenix--!!

(SCRAMBLE FOR THE KINNIKU THRONE ARC)
SPECIAL VTR XCVI (XXXXXXXXXVI)
KINNIKUMAN VS. KINNIKUMAN SUPER PHOENIX

TN: Well, we're finally at the final, crucial, ultimate moment of the classic Kinnikuman, the final ultimate battle of Suguru and Kinnikuman Super Phoenix. And all I can say and think of after this chapter is this: why the heck is Harabote still chairman of this tournament...heck why the heck is Harabote still the leader of the Choujin Association as a whole!? I know it may feel out of line to ask this at what essentially is the end of the series, but considering everything this guy has pulled and done since at least the Choujin Olympics long, long ago (let alone before then if he let corruption take hold such as the whole situation with Powerfulman having to pay an exorbitant amount just to get affiliation leading to his corruption as Zebra), he really shouldn't be the leader of the group that oversees all Choujin throughout the universe with what he's pulled. Heck, in this tournament alone he essentially allowed for the bad guys to get away with setting up one ludicrous scenario after another, all in all leading to the utter mutilation of a landmark like Osaka Castle just for the sake of a final be-all and end-all wrestling match. (if this was a copy of Osaka Castle like, say, Tournament Mountain is a parallel Mt. Fuji, I would sympathize better...but this just feels so much like the Apollon Windows scenario taken to a bigger extreme since it's not just a keyhole into Earth but the utter destruction of Japanese property for the sake of wrestling) And then we have this chapter...where we have the whole Omegaman being left in the ring scenario...plus his attempted bribery with that bowl of gyuudon that magically appeared out of nowhere! Alright, maybe Harabote does deserve some sympathy: he himself gave Suguru a 20-Count to save Bibimba before the final match and the last chapter and a half presumably was within the 20-Count. But his irresponsibility combined with his grudge for Mayumi's family anyway (and his consistent allowance of all the villains to make the rules up as they go along) just makes me wish that someone would just ask for a new leader once this crooked, disgusting tournament that he himself masterminds is over. It's so sad though that the only time you do actually feel sympathy for what he does (when he lead the Choujin under the final battle of Suguru and Akuma Shogun to persist to the end) gets overwhelmed and drowned by his douche-moments that it just makes me think it's more like a sports commissioner who remains in power way too long, permits a whole bunch of stupidity and yet keeps in power...but that's not a rant for now.

Aside from that...well, I get Suguru's heart condition (whether or not it is tied to him being without his Burning Inner Strength) makes him want to rush things too...but it just seems like an excuse to keep him a jerk during this final battle. Mayumi is right: Suguru is better as a joker who can laugh at the stupidity of a fight than as someone serious and grave. And as for the cliffhanger...well, they need to explain why exactly Phoenix suddenly has the Face Flash as well...but that was just pure dumb luck to just stay in this tournament himself that actually worked out. (these things always seem to work out for villains don't they...) Though I do have to ask: what exactly is Omegaman's mask made of to allow for it to fuse with Phoenix yet not be his face...probably just fused with his mask considering his face is probably just as generic now as Suguru's under that mask.
