(TN: Meat made a double pun here: “Dokuro Seijin” is an “alien from the planet Dokuro”, while “Dokuro” is “skull” in Japanese. Furthermore, he also uses the expression “Sharekoube”, which is slang for either “cranium” or a weatherbeaten skull…thus why I used “bonehead”. BTW: The kanji on his head is “hone”, which is “bone”)
Kinkotsu: Indeed, I am Sharekoube. My nickname is Kinkotsuman!

TN: Alright, so maybe Kinkotsuman isn't Suguru's greatest rival ever...but at least he was the first really major one! (well there is Terryman but he is more or less a friendly rival than a rival/enemy along these lines) Then again, we can sort of also see how incompitent he is along Suguru's lines...well OK, he did outsmart him and it was a tad inconvenient that Terry was there that day but if it weren't for that he could have been done for! Outside that, I sort of want to make mention of a recurring theme in this point of the series: Suguru's perversion and obsession with the opposite sex. It appears early on that Suguru's failing love life is a consistant joke that he is stuck behind, in a way another thing that seemed similar to the "similar to this period" series Urusei Yatsura. (well OK, outside the fact that no one can out-pervert Ataru Moroboshi but he's one of a kind) We notice several females in the series but by now all of them are sort of spoken for by one character or another, with Natsuko's budding romance with Terry and Mari protecting Meat. Luckily Suguru does get someone himself later...but by then the series starts getting more serious so it probably was a way for him to be spoken for (then again, Toei pretty much ignored her...but we'll get to that when we finally meet her in my translation cycle). More Kinnikuman fill-ins (and silly comments) next time...don't be a bonehead until then!
