After tempering his power and gaining a new arsenal of moves, Suguru has conquered his Hawaiian challenge! Now it's on to the American mainland and a meeting with the World Choujin Association...where new problems are arising!

Assistant: Chairman, all of the passengers have seemed to disembark.
Phreas: That Kinnikuman, what is he doing? He was supposed to have been on that boat…

Meat: Really, you’re supposed to be a champion, yet it’s pitiful that you were mistaken as a fish…
Phreas: Ooh! They’ve arrived!
Suguru: Uhyo—this is incredible.

Suguru: Hey, while on that, what are the Council and the Choujin Federation?
Assistant: I’ll have to be the one…to explain this.
Assistant: Currently, outside we of the World Choujin Association, there are the Choujin Council and the Choujin Federation…
(TN: A bit of an explanation: though I actually kept the word “Choujin”, the “S” in the three groups is “Superman”, which of course is “Choujin” in Japanese. Beyond that, the final letter of each group is one of the three: the “World Superman Association” is in Japanese “Sekai Choujin Kyoukai”, the “World Superman Council” is “Choujin Hyougikai” and the “World Superman Federation” is “Choujin Doumei”)

Meat: A secret stronghold!

Bozu: I know you. You’re Kinnikuman, the World Choujin Olympics champion…
Suguru: Skull Bozu……
Phreas: Kinnikuman, hurry!!
Meat: Prince--!!
Suguru: Well then, see you, Umibozu!
(TN: Suguru called Skull Bozu “Umibozu”, which is notable as an ocean spirit that sinks ships)

Phreas: Fufu…you’ll drop your stomach when you see our St. Louis office.
Meat: Eh? The office is already constructed?
Phreas: You can’t confuse it with Hollywood and Disneyland. It’s appropriate to call it the “Lost World”.
Suguru: Eh? Lost World?
Phreas: Right. We’ve named it “Supermen World”!!

TN: To tell the truth, with all the going back and forth between "Choujin" and "Supermen" in this chapter, I nearly got dizzy. Yes, Choujin is "Superman/Supermen" and it really should be "Superman" in the US, but with all of the usage of "Choujin" in the series I couldn't help it and kept it as such in the chapter with the note that the American "S" is "Superman" not "Choujin". But outside that context, you sort of have to wonder how what basically was the state of all these various wrestling federations and local tournies which existed in the 70s and 80s in the US could actually turn into a geographic problem within this world. Sure I know some would equate this to "wrestling made serious", but somehow at least there is a context for it in this period of history compared to, well, "children's card games". (even though I like some of Yu-Gi-Oh!'s concept, the fact that you have to make serious a silly card game just makes me chuckle) Suguru just seemed to appear at the right place at the right/wrong time, but with Skull Bozu and Beauty Rhodes running amuck, he has his work cut out for him to help the WSA regain it's status...besides, it's not every day that St. Louis is the HQ for a war...and while we'll see how next time, all I can imagine is just some uber Choujin HQ under the Gateway Arch...
