Announcer: The next fight for Kinnikuman, who has become the first 2-time champion in Choujin Olympics history, is already starting. Really, who can attack the lossless Kinnikuman on the mat?
Announcer: Even when that happens, there are still unseen champion Choujin in every country of the world, but the king is Kinnikuman. They would have to head to Japan secretly incognito.
TN: I mentioned in the last chapter that the bridge pretty much was completely sealed between the storyline from beginning through the end of the Devil Choujin arc. However, being the completist I am, I decided to do one forgotten chapter that sort of didn't mean to be there...but still fun to have for reference. This chapter appeared at the end of vol. 9, after the end of the 2nd Choujin Olympics arc (and a classic finale between Suguru and Soviet Choujin Warsman...which you really should read now) and the beginning of the Devil Choujin arc in vol. 10. There really isn't too much to be said: we get opinions by Tazahama on the best bouts, a bit on the Choujin Olympics themselves and what could have been in preparation for the arc. It's a good jumping on point I think for the later part of the series which starts after this or a good reminder for those who haven't or hadn't have the chance to read the Choujin Olympics. Some of the comments here are interesting if you think about it (Oilman's "happy to be here" bit, the Fishers thinking it was a tag tourney) as was what could have been in some of the matches (LOL at "Warsman pretty much will win against Brocken Jr unless...like Warsman would let that happen") Another interesting factor that I found is the very last line of the chapter: after this arc, every villain who does show up seems to do so in a cloaked, unseen manner, preventing us from seeing them until the time comes. Not only is that a way to sneak in and cause ruckus...but it is a neat device used by Yudetamago to fake out on which Choujin they want to use from reader submissions until the chapter of their decision appears! Besides, it's always neat to see disguised beings not knowing what lies beneath...though it is weird that the last panel is just a weird approximation of what Yudetamago thought the Devil Choujin would be. (yeah, Armstrong really goes away after the next chapter and...heh heh, look at Buffaloman's nose)
So basically, with this chapter, the gap is fully complete...and not just in a story way, I mean fully complete! So with all the past stuff behind us, we're moving forwards with the Choujin warriors! And in this case, I mean that the next translation will be starting a brand new arc, never before seen in English! So stay tuned cause next time...two particular wrestling masks enter the picture, beginning one of the greatest struggle of Kinnikuman (and the hero Choujin) lives!
