Important Note: Construction of Japanese language allows vagueness that is often a cause of many misunderstandings. Often one sentence can mean many different things based on the context and the situation. Conversation on page 12 and 13 is basically one of these situations… If you look at what they say from perspective of hungry stranger it goes like this: he asks if our hero has any food at all, and our hero answers that he didn’t have anything at all from the beginning… and if you look at it from the perspective of our hero then he was asked if he has any leftovers left from previous meal… and he answers that there’s nothing left. It came out completely different right?
It’s caused by mere interpretation and construction of Japanese language
which tends to shorten sentences. Looking at my previous sentence in Japanese it would sound more like: “shorten, Japanese language, mere interpretation and construction.” Or whatever. I tryed to fit it my image... But hey .. there's always possibility that main character was simply lying and saying that he don't have any food =^^=
