Thanks, fixing it. :p And all my transes are available for scan use unless I say in the post with the trans that it's not allowed. There's a few that I do specifically for a certain group, but mostly they're available. :amuse

It could be, I would think that Kubo-Sensei would choose something more along the meaning of revolution, or wind, or something along those lines because of what kind of sword it is... But I could be wrong, though the sound Hiraruda. :p

Thanks for catching that. My English needs a lot of work... and I should have proofed this more carefully. :darn And corrections are always welcome. :smile-big

IMHO, the kanji taken in context means "Storm Baron", which I guess is his battle form, just FYI.

Thanks! I sorta forgot to ask before I used your trans. in my scanlation (a bit edited) but I think I´ll upload it anyway, if you have a problem just take it down! It´ll be in the 251 Scans/trans... etc. thread. Thanks again!

Thanks WinterLion.

Haku82: I thought I was the first to notice that XP
Yes, I agree with you. Hiraruda is, probably, Giralda. This is a real word (like all the other Arrancar zanpakutou), a spanish word, and the name of a tower that "twists if the wind" as said in wikipedia (so much like the "dragon" things on Dordonii)

Go ahead, glad to be of use!

BTW, the word Doru uses to release his zanpakuto connotes to something more alongside the lines of "swirl" or "whirl" instead of revolve (all of which are definitions of the kanji, at different contexts). :)

Long time reader, first time poster. :P

Going along with Giralda, it was called after the statue. Giralda originally being "Weathervane," which would aptly fit with revolving :P

(Besides, the katakana has had similar confusion with an Arrancar release before - Luppi's Trepadora is ivy girl in k/ivy climber in Sp, Il Forte's Del Toro is Blue Horn Prince in j, The Bull in Sp etc.)

Not bad. Looks like Ichigo should abandon Orihime and retreat till he can get stronger.

Thanks, I'm adding that in. :D Doesn't "revolve" "swirl" and "whirl" all mean the same thing? From my understanding of English, it all means something turning/spinning... Or is there something I'm missing with that?

Glad to have you join in. :amuse Do you know what the pronunciation of "Giralda" would be? I'm just wondering if maybe it really should be pronounced with a "hi" sound instead of "gi" as I assume as soon as I see the spelling.

@All: I am going to go with popular consensus on this and change the zanpakutou name to "Giralda." Thanks for all the input. :smile-big[br]Posted on: 2006-11-10, 13:30:11_________________________________________________

Sorry. I completely missed this comment. :s And I didn't even really bother looking at the cover until just now after I saw your comment. :p But I see the I can see DORDON and the I but I also see something extra next to the I. Could it be a double "I" at the end or do you think it's just and extension of the left part of the "N"? So in short, would it be "Dordoni" or "Dordonii"?

Coming a bit late on this topic, but hopefully still in time to be of any use. :)

The Spaniards read "Gi" as "Hi". In Portuguese, that reads something like "jee-rahl-da". In Spanish, it's "hi-rahl-da".

That last thing could either be a single "i", a double "i", or an "h". Since "Dordonh" would be horrible, LOL, I'd go with "Dordoni" or "Dordonii". The latter is more Kubo-ish, since he always puts a spin on the spelling of known foreign names. Either that, or he mispells them all. :-)

It's never too late. It serves to teach me something new (even if the actual words aren't used in the script anymore) and that's always very much appreciated. :amuse

And that would make it very understand why Kubo used "Hiraruda" then.

Dordonh would indeed look ugly. :p Plus that probably wouldn't keep the "e" sound at the end. So I decided to go with the technically correct way and use "Dordoni" in my transes. :amuse

Again thanks for all your input.

How is Dordone written on that cover? The last letter looks like a B, but that doesn't make sense, is it supposed to be a weird E? o_O
