Suggestion: What is the truth then? I think it flows a bit better.
Suggestion: Rumors gave birth to more rumors. Again, it feels more natural to me.
I'd add an "and" for more emphasis. "and when they do"
To my knowledge there's never been a character with this name in the series until now. Maybe it's the old lady. Is it a woman's name?
Nothing like this appeared in Viz before. I'll look some more just in case. But I think the line is reffering to the guy being one of the senior disciples of Yoshioka school.
While I understand your feelings, I'm glad of the whole lot of text. It's interesting. The last two chapters have been rather boring imo (or maybe I'm just sick of Musashi's endless whining) not to mention crappily drawn, compared to the rest. Plus, we get Kojiro's first written words. :tem Now that calls for a celebration. I've been dying to know what was going on in those two pages ever since I saw the raw.
Kojiro's first spoken word (except for the Ahhs and the Auuhs and the Guhhs) was Jii-ai, that is Jisai.
Well, there's a responsible adult in the thread, so don't think you'll get away with it, young man. :notrust

And I found out that Myouei is a different character, and that this is actually the name of Kouetsu's mother, though I don't know how to pronounce the two characters yet.
The other changes look good, adding them in.
