Heey, you rock. Thank you again for a wonderful job.

I like the first version better.

Quote:
武蔵さんもお食事の御用意できてますよ
Come with us Musashi, a meal has been prepared.

Come with us, Musashi, I've prepared a meal. Or: we've prepared a meal. I think it flows a bit better.
Quote:

おおよそ、どっちが斬られるのかは分かっていたけどな
Even though we did know just about who would have killed whom.

Even though we did know who would have killed whom. Again, I think the flow is better without the "just about".

we've prepared a meal sounds best but it depends on who is making it. I mean if it is the temple place that they have been at then it is we. I think that is what it is.

I think it should be "Even though we had an idea about who would have killed whom"

The "just about" is part of the sentence. He wasn't saying that they knew concrete for sure who would have killed whom. He was saying that they knew "approximately" how things would have turned out. I'm not too sure I like the way the English flows in yours though Neo.

And I don't see what's particularly wrong with a meal having been prepared, but I can go with "we've prepared a meal". How about "A meal has been prepared for us." ? Scratch that, looking at the Japanese, "We've prepared a meal" would sound better I suppose.

i guess upon further inspection my sentence doesnt flow well but after reading the japanese i see what you mean about the other sentence

There's nothing wrong with it, I'm just partial to active rather than passive sentences. A matter of taste, I guess. Passive would work best to give the language a more "antique" flavor. Since I don't know Japanese, the call is entirely yours.

I see. Lemme think... "Even though we (both) could guess who would have killed whom." "Even though we (both) had a feeling on/we could guess who the winner would have been." How does that sound? Am I distancing my suggestions too far from the original text?
Who's "we" here? Kouetsu and Musashi? Cause this phrase sounds to me like it needs either an I or an we both (that's why I put both between parenthesis).

Well, considering we're technically working on a manga that is in the 'antique' age, I'd have to say by all means let's go with somewhat of an older talking pattern, at least for the characters who are older like Myoshu and Kouetsu.

That phrase is Musashi talking to himself, (and by extension Kojiro), saying that the two of them pretty much knew the outcome of the fight.

Ok, then, how does this sound?
"A meal has been prepared. Come with us, Musashi." Because if I understand it correctly, Musashi is being invited to a meal that hasn't been prepared especially for him. Or am I wrong? If I'm wrong then:
"Come with us, Musashi, we have prepared a meal." Without the "we've" it's still a bit "antiquated".
Or if you want to use your original version, go with that. It's entirely your call.

Then how about this: "Even though we could both guess who would have been the likely winner."

"A meal has been prepared. Come with us, Musashi." works for me.

I'm still not sure on that next one though, since they didn't use anything close to winner, he was talking about who would have won (I meant to say kill here, as that's the exact verb they used).

How about:

"Even though we could both guess who would have killed whom."
