So there's only a half our left until the designated time...

That nickname also means that those in the fore are victorious.
一度その十人が知られてしまえば後から来た者がそこに割って入れるわけはない　十剣は十剣
If the Ten were known to all, those who would follow later would not be able to get in. The Ten are the Ten.
俺がどれだけ自信があると言ったところで
No matter how confident I am in my abilities,
世間にとっては十剣でなければその他大勢の一人に過ぎぬ
if I were not one of the Ten, the world would only see me as one of the rest.

As for the phrase 肉を斬らせて骨を断つ, it means:
"Let them cut your flesh so you can cut their bones"
It means that you let your enemy hurt you but in exchange for doing so you are able to deal them a greater blow. It refers to when Denshichirou got cut down but attempted grab and kill Musashi in the process right before he died.
Horikawa just takes the phrase literally to mean that he and Yoichi are the flesh that can be sacrificed in the upcoming battle in order to protect the bones of the Yoshioka. They can be the flesh who will fall against Musashi while the rest of the Yoshioka kill Musashi. Hence why Yoichi said that he's already lived a long life and is ready to die whenever.
I had originally thought they were talking about the Yoshioka as a body needing to trim the fat sort of, but looking back at that, definitely not it, heh.
Also just realized I didn't go back and change the 'niku' to flesh. Damn you, brain!
