Komui: With a parasitic-type, the Innocence and the user's body are integrated at a cellular level, combining to turn the body itself into an "Anti-Akuma weapon". // In other words, the Innocence is restructuring the body of the user. For instance... // Allen-kun's left arm, and Krory's teeth, may take the form of parts of the human body when they're not activated...

Komui: But internally, they're composed of an entirely different kind of cellular structure.

Reever: But when we investigated Lenalee's legs, we couldn't find evidence of any such transformation. / And there's no sign of any Innocence within her body. // It's just these "crystals" left upon her legs. / Originally, they were formed from Lenalee's own blood, // but they've changed into an entirely different, metallic kind of structure. // Hevlaska agreed that the Innocence is clearly residing inside the crystals.
Lavi: I see... // "Blood", huh. // It's a part of the user's body...

Komui: This is an evolution of the equipment-type. // In exchange for the blood of the user, the Innocence itself generates a weapon.
Reever: Ordinarily, equipment-type Innocence is difficult to control, and so we of the Science Department have to forge it into a weapon, to restrain and direct its power. / But with this type, it seems the blood forms an intermediary between the Innocence and its user, making it possible to control a greater power than would be ordinarily possible. // I also suspect that even if the weapon were to be damaged, it would simply need a little of the user's blood to restore itself.
Exorcists: Blood, huh... // Kinda nasty...
Komui: Could you please stop acting like that; we do understand how you feel.

Komui: For the moment, we intend to call this the "crystallisation-type".
Lenalee: Crystallisation-type...
Someone: But Komui, don't you think this crystallisation-type might be something unique to Lenalee?
Komui: No... / We can't be certain yet, but I suspect that there is a high probability of the same thing happening to other equipment-type users.
Tiedoll: So God wishes to give us greater strength...
Marie: ...... / I suppose I should say this. // The raid yesterday... it occurred immediately after our return from Edo, and as such we were not on best form, but still, if the Generals had not been here, we would have been annihilated. / I don't mean to sound timid in saying this, but...

Marie: Personally, I got the distinct impression that the Earl was trying to tell us... // ...that he has the power to eliminate us all whenever he may so desire.

Lavi: I wonder if the crystallisation-type shortens your lifespan, same as the parasitic-type...
Bookman: Don't you ever switch to the crystallisation-type, Lavi. / You don't need to involve yourself with Innocence to that extent.
Lavi: Hm? / Yeah...
Bookman: If you catch any signs that such a transformation might be approaching, then tell me immediately. // Then we will have to leave this place.
Lavi: ... / I know.
[TN: Ooh. Sounds like we finally have the potential for a moment when Lavi is going to have to choose between his Bookman role and his role as an Exorcist. Or at the very least choose whether or not to openly defy his master. I look forward to that. (As well as to seeing what his crystallisation-type looks like! ^_^)]

Bookman: ...About what Marie was saying back there... / Frankly, with the might the Earl possesses, he could most likely easily have crushed a tiny organisation like this a hundred years ago if he had so desired.
Lavi: Huh?
Bookman: Perhaps the Earl has some kind of reason to leave the Order alive on purpose...
Lavi: Wha??
Bookman: I'm speculating. / We can't rule out that kind of possibility. // For the moment, we will simply have to see how things play out for a little longer...

[TN: Well, obviously "this man" is Tyki Mk.2 :p He's the spitting image. What I want to know is what the original is doing down there on the dancefloor. Wasn't he defeated quite categorically already? Not that I'm complaining... he is one of the best characters in the series, after all.]
