ARGH LONG CHAPTER DIE. >_< I'm just helping out niph for this chapter. In future, I'll stick to translation checking. :p This translation started out being based on rouge_sapphire's, but I had to rewrite most of it anyway. ^^; Oh well.

「鴆」なる妖は... その羽を酒に浸せば五臓六腑が爛れて死に至る猛毒の鳥妖怪
であり
薬・毒薬を司る「鴆一派」の頭領
どのような薬も経年によって猛毒へと変わるように
鴆も生まれた時にはそれは美しい鳥であるといいます
Karasu: "Zen" is a spirit evolved from bird youkai… He soaked his wings in wine while his innards fester, to produce a deadly poison until the time of his death.
The head of the Zen Sect is in charge of medicines and poisons.
They can change any medicine into a poison by aging it over time.
It is also said that when Zen was born, he was a beautiful bird.

やがて元服のころ..... 羽が猛毒へと変わる
だが反面その特性のためか.... 一族は大変体の弱い―― いつ消えてもおかしく
ない
はかなげで.... 弱い妖怪なのです
Karasu: Soon after his coming of age ceremony… his wings turn into a deadly poison.
On the other hand, because of that speciality… the clan has terribly weak bodies--- It’s not strange for them to disappear any time.
They are short lived… and weak Youkai.

鴆様も.... なかなか本家に顔も出せず
今日は何故か....

Karasu: Zen-sama, too… He doesn’t really show his face at the main family.

[* This is a pun. Yomeishu (養命酒) is a real health supplement in Japan, which means Life-Nourishing Wine. Yomeishu (妖銘酒) here has the same reading, but means Youkai-Chosen Wine.]
