ダンゾウの目的は大蛇丸の新たなる肉体（からだ）…サスケを葬ることだった。そのためにサイは大蛇丸に近付こうとしたんだ。木ノ葉を裏切ったワケではなかった。木ノ葉のために…武闘派の考えそうなことだ。
Danzou was after what is to become Orochimaru's new body... He intended to take Sasuke out of the picture. And to accomplish this he attempted to move Sai in near Orochimaru. He didn't betray Konoha after all. He was working for us... in his own militaristic fashion.

Frame 2, Yamato:
早くサイを見つけるんだ！
We need to find Sai now!

Frame 4, Sasuke:
…誰だ？
... Who's there?

Frame 5, Sai:
バレちゃいましたか…でも…ボクはもう先手を取ってる。
Caught me red-handed... Still... I've already acquired the upper-hand here.

Frame 6, Sasuke:
目的は何だ？
What is it you want?

Frame 7, Sai:
…ボクは君を…
... I intend to...

木ノ葉へ連れ帰る！

もっとも最初はキミを殺すつもりで来たんだけど…
Although granted, I did originally come here in order to kill you...

Frame 5, Naruto (Flashback):
あいつは…誰よりもオレの事を認めてくれた一人だ。
He's the person that, more than anyone else, accepted me and my existence.

Frame 6, Sakura (Flashback):
ナルトは…サスケ君のことを兄弟みたいに思ってるから。
It's because... Naruto thinks of Sasuke as though he were his own brother.

その仲間を救う為ならなんだってやるさ。お前とだって組んでやる。
If it means that I can save that friend, I'll do anything. I'll even work with someone like you.

Frame 2, Naruto (Flashback):
たとえバラバラにされようが…オレは大蛇丸からサスケを奪い返してやるんだってばよ！
Even if it means getting torn to pieces, I'm going to take Sasuke back form Orochimaru no matter what!

Frame 3, Naruto (Flashback):
サスケはオレの友達だから…やっと出来た大切なつながりだから…
Sasuke is my friend... And he represents bonds that I waited so long to receive, so that's why...

…ボクは彼が必死にたぐり寄せようとしてるキミとの“つながり”ってのを守ってみたいんだ。
... I want to see if I can't protect the bonds between you and him that he clings so strongly to.

思い出した“記憶”とひきかえに“任務”は捨てた！ナルトが信じた…サイがサスケと対峙する！！
