Chapter Notes
Page 2 - Kyuuso / 旧鼠
The kanji in Kyuuso literally read "Former/Ex-Rat". A kyuuso is a rat which, after a few thousand years, has transformed into a youkai. Kyuuso are known to prey on cats, but at the same time are said to sometimes care for kittens left behind by the cats they eat.
Page 5 – Tsurubebi / 釣瓶火
Tsurubebi are pale blue-white spheres of fire which appear suddenly dangling from trees along mountain paths on quiet nights. Although they consist of fire, they do not burn the surrounding trees, and according to stories from the Edo period (~1603-1863), the flame doesn't go out in rain, and only burns brighter if water is thrown on it.
Page 5 - Furaribi / ふらり火
A youkai with the head of a dog and the body of a bird, which is engulfed in flame. It is also said to be the wandering spirit of someone who has died but not received the proper burial services.
Page 5 - Ubagabi / 姥火
Ubagabi are another fire type youkai which take the form of a 30cm ball of flame, at the centre of which is an old woman's head spouting fire. According to the legends, if the ubagabi flies over someone's shoulder, that person will die within 3 years. However, if the person says "油差し" (aburashi), then the ubagabi will disappear.

Page 2 - Kyuuso / 旧鼠
The kanji in Kyuuso literally read "Former/Ex-Rat". A kyuuso is a rat which, after a few thousand years, has transformed into a youkai. Kyuuso are known to prey on cats, but at the same time are said to sometimes care for kittens left behind by the cats they eat.
Page 5 – Tsurubebi / 釣瓶火
Tsurubebi are pale blue-white spheres of fire which appear suddenly dangling from trees along mountain paths on quiet nights. Although they consist of fire, they do not burn the surrounding trees, and according to stories from the Edo period (~1603-1863), the flame doesn't go out in rain, and only burns brighter if water is thrown on it.
Page 5 - Furaribi / ふらり火
A youkai with the head of a dog and the body of a bird, which is engulfed in flame. It is also said to be the wandering spirit of someone who has died but not received the proper burial services.
Page 5 - Ubagabi / 姥火
Ubagabi are another fire type youkai which take the form of a 30cm ball of flame, at the centre of which is an old woman's head spouting fire. According to the legends, if the ubagabi flies over someone's shoulder, that person will die within 3 years. However, if the person says "油差し" (aburashi), then the ubagabi will disappear.

no problem! I just wanted to get this one up before school started up again on Monday, otherwise it never would have gotten done /fail
But yeah, I was thinking that too... also the longhaired "Boss" guy at the beginning on p3 kinda looks like the centre figure sitting around the fire with Nurarihyon & co in that last page of Ch5... *needs to reread 5* Another traitor from within? :x
'o' I never noticed that. Rat boy could be that long haired guy. :p There're probably more traitors within the youkai community because they don't want to be led by a fourthie who protects humans.
