(tn: actually, this is such a gem of a line, and I’d do it injustice not to explain the THREE very distinct meanings that can be applied to this context just as well.

1.Something along the lines of “Bite down on your teeth”. The connotation is that you get yourself ready for the challenges ahead in life and fight bravely.
2.噛みしめる can also mean to chew food well and savor its taste. Being a manga about food, this is what I went with as my final choice for the translation.
3.Lastly, it also can mean “to think over, meditate upon, etc”. Surely one must constantly be reflecting upon his/her own life.

In any case, what a brilliant little line by the author! )
