Blue Dragon: Ral Ω Grado 1

Muhah. Translated the first chapter of Blue Dragon. 56 pages of fun. I never thought I'd be translating something from Shounen Jump, but hey, I did, because this looks awesome and reminds me of one of my favorite manga, Bastard!!

In any case, this is a rough draft and going to be prone to changes. Feel free to use it to scanlate so long as you give me credit, but that may only be for this first chapter.

Didn't translate the cover pages. No need really.

人間に入ったカゲは内側から人間を食って精神を侵してしまう奴が多いそうですが
I've heard that Shadows often eat the humans they're in from the inside out and take over their souls, but,

僕のカゲは僕を食べてしまったらすぐにバレると考え　逆に僕の体内で力を分けてくれたんです
My Shadow thinks that if he eats me he'd be exposed instantly, and is instead distributing his power throughout my body.

ドラゴンは今のカゲのボスが気に入らない　だから僕の知恵と自分の力を合わせカゲを倒すと
The dragon doesn't like the current Shadow's boss. So he's combining his strength with my intelligence to defeat the Shadow.

僕達ならどんなカゲでも倒せます　信じてください
We can defeat any Shadow. Believe in us.

色?見る?まったく想像　つかない・・・
Colors? Sight? I can't even begin to imagine it.

これは自分の手、顔も触れる
This is my hand, and I can touch my face.

触る事で確かに俺がここに居る事大体の姿もわかる
By touch I know that I'm here, and most of what I look like.

あとは壁・・・そしてグラドとの頭の中での会話だけ
This wall, too... and the conversation with Grado in my head.

理屈ではカゲってヤツが俺に入ったんだとわかるけど　こいつも実体は無い・・・
I understand that theoretically a Shadow is inside of me, but he doesn't have a shape either.

生まれてから15年ずっとこの中　俺にとってはこれが普通　ここが安心だった　外に出るのが恐ろしくてここで死ぬのも悪くない　そう考えていた時もあった・・・
I've been in here since I was born 15 years ago. This is normal to me. This place is comforting. I've feared going outside; and I've even thought it wouldn't be too bad to die in here...

でも　いざ出られるかもしれないとなった今はなんとしても・・・
But now that I might get out, I feel...

外を見たい　実感したい・・・　試したい・・・
like I want to see what's out there. I want to feel it... try it...

15年前　ドラゴンを宿した赤ん坊を城の地下に封じたのはもう皆知っています
Everyone knows that 15 years ago you sealed a boy carrying a dragon inside of him in the castle's dungeons.

しかし・・・ラル・・・あのカゲを光の下に出すのは・・・
But... Ral... If we let that Shadow out under the light...

あのカゲは出しても大丈夫だと思います
I believe it would not pose a threat to us to release the Shadow.

Shadows...

今　この世に生きる物は二分される
There are two types of things living in this world.

ひとつは光のある世界に生きる私達
One is us, those who live in the world of light.

そしてもうひとつは
And the other,

光の無い世界で生まれた物　そこは次元もひとつ少なく立体としての体を持たない闇を彷徨う魔獣(モンストール)
the others are those who were born in the world of darkness. They who have no dimensions and no form. Monsters who prowl the darkness.

それがカゲ　神が邪悪なものとして闇に留めたのだと言い伝えられてきた
They are the Shadow. The evil beings that God sent into the darkness, so we are told.

しかし長い年月を経て　カゲは限りなく闇に近い場所でできる生物の影から光のある(こっちの)世界に入ってきた
However, after many months and many years, the Shadows entered our world, the world of light, through the shadows of creatures living close to their world.

カゲは実在した・・・
The Shadow took shape...

宿った生物に許可されればその影から自分の姿を具現化できる　寄生型(ファースト)
The First, or parasite form, is when the creature allows the Shadow to take shape in its shadow.

宿った生物の内側から食い　肉体も精神も完全に自分の物とし　自由にふたつの姿になれる　侵食型(セカンド)
The Second, or corroded form, is when the Shadow eats the creature from the inside out. It makes the spirit and flesh of the creature its own, and can freely take two shapes.

そして最も破壊力を持つ　増殖型(サード)
And the Third, or augmentative form, has the most destructive power.

現在　この3タイプが確認されていますが　ラルは少なくともセカンドではない
We've confirmed that these three types exist, however Ral is at the least not a second.

牢での毎日の会話はドラゴンに支配されていてできる会話ではありませんでした
The conversations we have every day down in that prison are not the conversations that a human being controlled by a dragon could have.

And the probability that he could be a augmentative Third?

It isn't possible.

サードとはさらに他の生物やセカンドを食べ　相手の能力を得たカゲです
Thirds eat other creatures and other Seconds and turn the power of their opponents into their own.

人間をはじめ　食べた全ての生物の姿　その複合型に姿を変えられますが人間を食べても知能の増加はわずかです
Beginning with humans, a Third can take the composite shape of any of the creatures it has eaten. However, it gains little knowledge from the humans it consumes.

そもそもカゲは全くの闇では影ができないため姿を現す事はできません
However, a Shadow can not appear in complete darkness, as there are no shadows there.

この15年　ラルは一度もあの闇から出ていない　ドラゴンは他のカゲとの接触どころか現れることもできずにいるはず
Ral has never left that darkness. His dragon has not been able to contact other Shadows, or to take shape.

・・・15年前　カゲが入り込んでいる事など知らず・・・我々人間は領土を奪い合い醜い争いをしていた・・・
... 15 years ago, we didn't know that the Shadows had invaded... us humans were scrambling for more territory in despicable wars...

生まれると同時に母親が死ぬなんて!
His mother died the moment he was born!

外がうるせえっ
It's noisy out there.

えっ・・・今　この子喋った・・・
Er... he just said something...

What materialized from the child then was a dragon.

一瞬で見渡す限りの山々を焼き　岩をも溶かした
In that instant it burned all the mountains in sight and dissolved the rocks.

カゲ・・・亡き父に聞いた事がある　影から入る闇の魔物
A Shadow... I've heard about them before from my dead father, evil beasts that enter your body through the shadows.

カゲを封じる手段はひとつ
There's only one way to seal a shadow.

全くの闇に封じ込めること
Seal it away in complete darkness.

こうしてラルは光が入らぬ様何重もの扉を付けられた城の地下深くにある牢に閉じ込められた
This was how Ral ended up sealed within a heavily locked prison that no light could enter, deep within the dungeons of the castle.

確かに15年あの中に・・・
He's certainly been in there for 15 years...

Page 16-17
しかしあの時点で相当数のカゲがラル以外にもこちらの生き物に寄生していたのだ
However at that point in time there were many other instances of Shadow parasites in creatures aside from Ral.

そしてすぐにその存在を現し瞬く間にカゲは光の下でその数を増やしていった
And in the blink of an eye the Shadows revealed themselves and increased their numbers under the light.

現在　カゲを率いているのは闇女王(オブスキュリア)と呼ばれる者　その目的は人間がこの星を滅亡させる前に全ての人間を排除すること・・・
The person currently leading the Shadow is known as the Dark Queen Obscuria. She aims to rid the world of humanity before humans destroys this star.

この15年でこの地に生きるものの半分がカゲに侵されたとも言われている
It's said that half of the world's population has been taken over by the Shadows in the past 15 years.

カゲと人間の力の差は明らか・・・このままではこの星の全てをカゲが侵すのもそう時間のかからぬ事だろう
The difference in power between the Shadows and humanity is clear... it's only a matter of time before the Shadows have taken over everything on this star.
