Notes
An Air mage from Blue Pegasus. His magic allows him to do things like making the air explode, or drain it of oxygen; certainly not a simple opponent to face.
The Blue Pegasus Guild has its own training gym, sauna, and even tanning Lachryma; it is this tanning Lachryma that is responsible for the tone of his skin.
Incidentally, a "tanning Lachryma" is a magical item used to create a suntan. By choosing the appropriate settings, a person can obtain whatever skin tone he or she desires in the space of about five minutes. The settings consist of mysterious numbers such as 61, 63 and 65. Ren's tan is a 61~61.5.

Ren: Take a look. Something seems to be flowing out of that creepy-looking black tree. // It looks it's being sucked in by that light.

Ren: You don't think that place is where Nirvana is hidden?!!
Eve: If it is, then does that mean somebody's found it already?!!

Eve: This magical force is blocking our telepathy!!
Ren: Shit!!!
Eve: I'll head on and carry on with the mission to rescue Wendy-chan!!
Ren: Okay!! I'm going to try heading over towards that light. Be careful, yeah?!

Hibiki: We're going after Natsu-kun and Erza-san. We should head for that light as well.
Charle: I'm still not happy about it. Certainly, Wendy can be a handful sometimes, but there was no need to be so rough!
Happy: That's right!
Hibiki: I had to do it.

Hibiki: It's an extremely dangerous form of magic. // It makes light and darkness switch places. // That's what Nirvana is.

Lucy: ...switch places?!!
Hibiki: But that's only the final stage. First of all, once the seal upon it is released, a black light bursts forth. // That's what we're looking at now. // The first thing the black light does... / ...is to cause those who are caught in the rift between light and the darkness to switch alignments completely. // So people on the side of Light who are experiencing powerful negative emotions... // ...fall to the darkness.
[TN: Wait a minute. Cherie aside, what does this mean for Gérard himself? He's a pretty ambiguous character right now when it comes to "light" and "darkness". Is this going to make things even more complicated? >_<]

Flashback!Wendy: It's all my fault... // It's all because I healed Gérard...
Hibiki: Powerful guilt like that is a very negative emotion. If I hadn't done something about it, Wendy-chan could well have fallen to the darkness.
Lucy: Wait a minute!! What about "rage"?! Is Natsu in danger?!!
Hibiki: I can't say... / If his rage is for somebody else's sake, then it may not be truly "negative"...
Happy: What should we do...?! I don't get it...
Charle: You're just an idiot. // Essentially, now that the seal on Nirvana is broken, / anybody who is wavering between good and evil is likely to have a violent personality change.
Hibiki: And that's the reason I didn't say anything about this magic until now. / Once people start thinking about everything in terms of "good" and "evil", negative feelings can spring up from all sorts of places.
