A cat who hangs around with Natsu, and a great mage too. With his wings, he can fly in the sky.

[Lucy / Magic: Stellar Spirit Magic]
A Stellar Spirit Mage who joined up with Fairy Tail after meeting Natsu. Using the Keys to the Gates, she can summon Stellar Spirits from another dimension, and use magic permitted only to those who form the proper contracts. She's actually the daughter of the head of the Heartfilia Zaibatsu, pride of Fiore Kingdom, but she ran away from home.

He made out that he was a mage, specialising in ring magic, but he's actually a Stellar Spirit. Now that he has been permitted to return to the Stellar Plane, Lucy is his Owner. He gets into a lot of trouble with the ladies.

The Canis Minor Stellar Spirit, who has a contract with Lucy. Yes, he is a dog. Apparently.

[Natsu / Magic: Dragon Slayer Magic]
A fire mage who can manipulate flames at will, sometimes known as Salamander. He uses Dragon Slayer magic, which allows him to transform his own flesh into that of a dragon. As a child, he was raised by the dragon Igneel.

An ice mage. Transforming ice into various forms to fight, he's a real powerhouse. Has a strange tendency to take off his clothes.

An armour mage, and the strongest woman in Fairy Tail. Also known as "Titania". Has also been referred to as "The Disciplinarian", thanks to her strict respect for rules and regulations. Specialises in "Ex-Quip" magic, allowing her to summon any of her large arsenal of weapons at will.

A contender for the title of strongest mage in Fairy Tail. Has no team spirit, and prefers to work alone. Rebels against his grandfather, Makarov.

The mighty Master who binds together all the troublemakers who make up Fairy Tail. He may be getting on a bit, at 88 years of age, but his powers are recognised by one and all, and he is one of the absolute elite of the entire continent - the Ten Great Holy Mages. His particular specialty is "Giant", a form of magic that allows him to grow to enormous size, but he can also use various other types, such as ice and fire.

Prides himself on his monstrous strength. Fights with his Beast Arm, which can absorb the power of monsters he has defeated. However, he can lose his nerve at critical moments.

[Guild]
A group of individuals with a common goal; something like a union. Mage guilds exist in every nation of the world, and Fairy Tail is one of them. Guilds organise missions and information for their members. There are also "Dark Guilds", such as Eisenwald, which take on illegal missions, ignoring orders to disband.

[Magic Council]
An organisation governing all mage guilds across the world, the Council exists to maintain order. Due to all the problems Fairy Tail are always causing, the Council considers them a pain in the neck.

[s-Rank Quest / S-Rank Mage]
Extremely dangerous missions are referred to as S-Rank Quests, and those with sufficient skill to take on these quests are called S-Rank Mages. S-Rank Mages are appointed by the Masters of their respective guilds. Even the likes of Natsu and Gray haven't reached the level of S-Rank just yet.

[Fiore Kingdom]
Fairy Tail's home country. A permanent neutral country whose main industries are dairy farming and horticultural agriculture. Its towns and cities are all named after flowers, and its capital city is Crocus. Fairy Tail is based in a town called Magnolia.
