This Saturday, April 9, at 8:30 PM Washington DC will see a fantastic fireworks display along the Wharf in Southwest DC. And as if fireworks weren't vast enough to behold, there is a whole festival leading up to it, starting at 1 PM. The whole Southwest Waterfront Firework Festival is free and hosts a multitude of activities and shows. Among them are music, family friendly water activities, cultural experiences, live entertainment and delicious foods at four locations.
At the Cherry Blossom Plaza you will find the Harris Teeter Experience, Cherry Blossom Photos, Caligraphy, DC Dragon Boats and Excursions, as well as a Beer and Cider Garden.
A Food Truck rally, Coffee and Hot Chocolate Samples by Dunkin Donuts, Sailboat Making, Hot 99.5 Music and Giveaways, and Blossom Art can be found at the Gangplank Marina / Copper Beach Park.
The Water Street Circle is going to have more of the Food Truck Rally and a Picnic Area. Additionally there will be Blossom Hair Styles and Photo Shoot, Blossom Ink Temporary Tattoos and a Family Comfort Station.
A handful of creative activities can be found in the Waterfront Park, among them Paper Bag Puppets, T-shirt Crafting, Kasa Hat Creations, Paper Kite Gliders, Face Painting, Family Games and Koi Windsocks.
