Blood, Black Jack, Evangelion Details

+ posted by Loserbait in Anime News on Sep 16, 2009 20:15

Manga Home Entertainment will be releasing the English version of Blood: The Last Vampire to high-definition blu-ray on November 24. And so far, they've given details on what will be included: "The Making of Blood: The Last Vampire" and the original standard-definition version of the film.

The blu-ray feature will have a selling price of $29.97 (USD). Considering the Japanese blu-ray version sells for 3992 yen and didn't include much (if anything at all...), $30 seems like a more-than-reasonable amount!

Black Jack, by author Osamu Tezuka, is one of the most recognised manga series of all time. Dealing with the medical adventures of the doctor Black Jack, it won the 1st Kodansha Manga Award for shonen and lasted 10 years (1973-1983), spawned two separate anime series (season one consisted of 62 episodes) and an anime film in 1995.

In relation to the anime, Crunchyroll and Tezuka Productions have announced that they have are releasing Black Jack episodes 14-28 to Crunchyroll Anime Members and fans worldwide, from September 15, 2009 at noon PST. The episodes will be subtitled and available in the following territories U.S. and its respective territories, UK & Canada.

And what of episodes 1-13? Well, Crunchyroll already streams episodes 1-13 of the series.

"With the continued partnership with Tezuka Productions, fans are in for a real treat with episodes 14-28 of Osamu Tezuka's BLACK JACK,” stated Rob Pereyda, Crunchyroll Senior Director.
