Miyazaki Joins 200 Volunteers and Locals to Conserve Totoro's Forest 
World-renowned Anime director Miyazaki Hayao paid a visit to the forest that was the inspiration for "My Neighbour Totoro", and helped the locals to maintain the trees in the forest. World-renowned Anime director Miyazaki Hayao paid a visit to the forest straddling Saitama and Tokyo that was the inspiration for his representative piece "My Neighbour Totoro", and helped the locals to maintain the trees in the forest. Director Miyazaki said, "For the sake of the children of the future, I want to leave nature in the state it was meant to be as much as possible. I believe it is my job to do so."
The forest Director Miyazaki visited is the 5700 square meter wide "Fuchi no Mori" (Abyssal Forest) that straddles Tokorozawa City in Saitama Prefecture and Higashimurayama City in Tokyo, well-known as being the inspiration for "My Neighbour Totoro". Director Miyazaki wanted to preserve nature in the suburbs, and thus joined the locals and 200 other volunteers in their efforts to preserve this forest.
The volunteers spent about 2 hours clearing weeds and cut away any branches that hindered the growth of the precious vegetation. A 20-year-old lady from Kouchi Prefecture said "I participated in this because I have an interest in both Director Miyazaki's works and in conservation efforts. The forest is shrinking, so I believe an awareness of the need to preserve nature is necessary."

Ika Musume Producer Posts, then Deletes Post on Index II Parody 
"Shinrayku! Ika Musume" producer commented about the Ika Musume parody in "To Aru Majutsu no Index II" bonus, only to replace the post later with apology. Producer of anime "Shinryaku! Ika Musume" posts comments on staff blog about the Ika Musume parody in "To Aru Majutsu no Index II" bonus, but deletes it later. The "To Aru Majutsu no Index II" bonus had been uploaded onto the internet illegally, and includes a parody character strongly resembling Ika Musume herself. He had said that the staff were bewildered by it, and were considerably saddened by it despite knowing it was most likely done as fan service and out of affection. He added that he figured there were probably fans with whom the parody did not sit so well with, and ended by signing off as "The young and inexperienced producer Guro @ Pony Canyon whose stomach hurts a little".
He later deleted the post and replaced it with an apology. He said that the post had spurred antagonism among fans, and added that he was reflecting over his actions for having written something unsuitable on the blog. He also added at the end that the event ended with him acknowledging anew that he was indeed, as he had called himself, "young and inexperienced", and that he would eat food that would soothe his stomach tonight.
