Team Medical Dragon Reaches Final Chapter Team Medical Dragon's final chapter published in the latest issue of Big Comic Superior, final volume coming 26th February. "Iryuu -Team Medical Dragon-", drawn by Nogizaka Tarou, is a manga that delves very frankly into the problems faced in the healthcare industry. Made into a popular drama staring Sakaguchi Kenji, it now reaches its final chapter in the 4th issue of Big Comic Superior (Shogakukan) that went on sale on the 28th.
The original idea for "Iryuu" came from medical doctor and medical journalist Nagai Akira, whose editor was medical supervisor Yoshinuma Mie. The story became a talking point because of the way it delved into issues in the healthcare industry. It began serialisation in April of 2002, and up to its 24th volume had sold a total of over 10,000,000 copies. Asada Ryuutarou had once upon a time led a medical team for an NGO at an international level, but was one day invited to work in a teaching hospital by Asst Professor Katou. Asada cares not for the influence and authority of the professors at the teaching hospital, and continues to use his expert surgery skills to cause miracles, leading to much strife within the hospital...
In the final chapter, "In those hands of yours", readers will get to take a look behind the scenes of an intense professor selection. The final volume, #25, goes on sale on the 26th of February. Nogizaka's new work is slated to begin serialisation as well this Spring.
