Urasawa, Tezuka's Pluto Wins at France's Angoulême Urasawa and Tezuka's Pluta won the Intergenerational Award at France's Angoulême International Comics Festival. Naoki Urasawa and the late Osamu Tezuka's Pluto manga won the Prix Intergénérations (Intergenerational Award) at France's Angoulême International Comics Festival this weekend. Acclaimed literary comic creator Art Spiegelman won the top award, the Grand Prix, and will serve as the Grand Marshal of next year's event.
This is not Urasawa's first series to be acknowledged at Angoulême; in 2004 his 20th Century Boys was made the official selection. Manga by Yoshihiro Tatsumi, Shigeru Mizuki, and Tezuka were nominated in 2008; Mizuki's Opération Mort (Soin Gyokusai Se yo) won the Heritage award that year.
Other manga nominated for this year's awards include Suehiro Maruo and Edogawa Ranpo's La Chenille (Imomushi), Shotaro Ishinomori's Sabu to Ichi Torimono Hikae, Masahiko Matsumoto's La Fille du Bureau de Tabac (Tobacco-ya no Musume/Cigarette Girl), Asao Takamori and Tetsuya Chiba's Ashita no Joe, and Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto and Gosho Aoyama's Detective Conan (Case Closed).

Men- Cruel Angel's Thesis (Neon Genesis Evangelion) 22.3%
- Ponyo on the Cliff (Ponyo on the Cliff) 19.8%
