Inoue Takehiko's "Smile" Illustrations Printed on Shirts for Charity All proceeds from the sale of the shirts to go to earthquake victims via emergency relief organization "CIVIC FORCE". Popular mangaka Inoue Takehiko, well known for manga "Slam Dunk" and "Vagabond" had uploaded a series of illustrations entitled "Smile" on Twitter as a form of support for the victims of the Touhoku earthquake. These illustrations will now be printed on t-shirts that will be sold for charity.
The images spread around on Twitter and received much media coverage, and Inoue Takehiko asked for suggestion on Twitter for other things he could do to aid the victims of the quake. Apparel brand "BEAMS" then suggested the t-shirts.
Starting 29th March, all BEAMS stores across Japan and the BEAMS online store (from April) will sell the t-shirts at ¥2940. Excluding the production fee, all proceeds will go directly to "CIVIC FORCE", an emergency relief organization.
