Arakawa Under the Bridge gets Live Action Adaptation Live-action drama slated for Summer 2011, movie slated for Spring 2012. Popular manga "Arakawa Under the Bridge", serialized in "Young Gangan", will be made into a live-action drama in summer 2011 and a movie in spring 2012. The same series was also made into an anime last year, but this is the first time it is being made as a live-action.
The series is a love comedy full of gags by Nakamura Hikaru, which began serialization in 2004. The drama will air on MBS (Mainichi Housou) and TBS in a late night slot in summer 2011, while the movie will be released in spring 2012. The cast list has yet to be revealed, but Nakamura has said that the casting is spot-on, giving it her seal of approval. She added that she was already satisfied getting an anime, and was very thankful that there were two live-action adaptations in the works. The movie will be directed by Iizuka Ken ("SAI-REN" and "Houkyou Monogatari THROES OF MY HOMETOWN".
