Animanga in the News: 4/8/11

The 2011 Eisner Award nominees were unveiled yesterday, and I’m pleased to report that this year’s manga nominees are a more diverse group than previous years’. Not only are a variety of styles and genres represented, there are also an unusually large number of female manga-ka in the nominee pool — something that hasn’t been true in previous years. (In fact, the female nominees outnumber the male in the Best US Edition of International Material: Asia category.) Below is a complete list of all the manga, manhwa, and artists that earned a nod from the Eisner judges.
