Here you will find a run down of today's anime and manga news! If anything sent waves through the anime and manga world today, you'll find it in this post! By the way, I'm saladesu (who is back from her holiday; thank you vintagemistakes for covering for me for a week!), one of the translators and global moderators of MH, and I'll be posting a post like this every day (as much as possible, anyway). Look forward to them ;)

The Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs and the National Diet Library announced on the 18th that they had entered into an agreement to "preserve our country's precious data for the next generation in a sound manner".
Works that have historical and cultural value, how to compile data appropriately, how to preserve them and apply them... Both sides announced their intentions to work together closely on these matters. Currently, the specific areas are (1) Scripts from television and radio programs, (2) audio data produced in Japan and (3) an archive for manga, anime and games.
In the agreement, books, newspapers, magazines, CDs and DVDs etc will be kept in the National Diet Library, while artworks, historical, folk and industrial items and those to do with the natural sciences will be stored in museums and art galleries. Anime, Manga and Games to be Preserved as Works with Historical and Cultural Value is a very interesting/good idea, I wonder if japan will be the only place that does that.
This archive news...is this something fresh...do we know what titles are to be selected to preservation, or there will be a general archive?
