Animanga in the News: 6/7/11

Here you will find a run down of today's anime and manga news! If anything sent waves through the anime and manga world today, you'll find it in this post! The anime character the most people want to take as their bride is "K-ON!!"'s Hirasawa Yui, according to the online music distribution company Rekochon's survey titled "Anime Characters You Want to Marry Rankings 2011".

The survey was conducted over the internet between 11th and 24th May, and 2188 votes were cast. The results are as follows:

Anime Character You Want as Your Bride

1. Hirasawa Yui (K-ON!!)
2. Akiyama Mio (K-ON!!)
3. Nakano Azusa (K-On!!)

Anime Character You Want as Your Groom

1. Sakata Gintoki (Gintama)
2. Roronoa Zoro (ONE PIECE)
3. Edogawa Conan/Kudou Shinichi (Detective Conan)

Those who voted for Yui stated reasons such as, "her smile is cute, and supports me when I fail epicly" and "she energizes me" (both male teenagers), suggesting that her innocent character was what drew them to her. On the other hand, those who voted for Gintoki said, "in a blink of an eye, he becomes really reliable" (females in their teens and twenties).

What was probably more surprising was that the top 3 spots for the girls were all from the same series.
