Animanga in the News: 6/8/11

Here you will find a run down of today's anime and manga news! If anything sent waves through the anime and manga world today, you'll find it in this post! By the way, I'm saladesu, one of the translators and global moderators of MH, and I'll be posting a post like this every day (as much as possible, anyway). Look forward to them ;)

The long-awaited newest addition to the "Gundam Series" is here! What stage will it be set upon? What will the story be? What mecha will be featured? Who will the characters be? The full story will be told on the 13th of June (Monday), 1:30pm, at the press conference.

The press conference will be broadcast live and also re-broadcast on "Bandai Channel Live!", so be sure not to miss the moment of truth!

Laughs are the source of energy! In times like this, one wants to read something that makes them laugh - gag manga. Da Vinci magazine surveyed its readers on which gag manga they recommended, and the results were as follows:

1. Saint Oniisan (Nakamura Hikaru)
2. Gintama (Sorachi Hideaki)
3. Tensai Bakabon (Akatsuka Fujio)
4. Masuda Kousuke Gekijou Gag Manga Hiyori (Masuda Kousuke)
5. Ike! Inenaka Takkyuubu (Furuya Minoru)
6. Yotsuba&! (Azumaki Yohiko)
7. Otou-san wa Shinpaishou (Okada Aamin)
8. Arakawa Under The Bridge (Nakamura Hikaru)
9. Crayon Shin-chan (Usui Yoshito)
10. Mama wa Temperist (Higashimura Akiko)

Nonsense, unprecedented, rash, eccentric... Characters like these are aplenty in these worlds, making you forget about everything else.
