[TN: The word he uses is "haki" (覇気). I've found translations including "ambition", "aspiration", "get-up-and-go"... but none of them really seem appropriate. I think "spirit", though perhaps a little generic, seems to fit better. One dictionary entry does translate "haki ga aru" ("to have haki") as "to be full of spirit", so I'm not just pulling the word out of nowhere :p If it becomes an important term, I might end up opting for a different translation, or leaving it untranslated.]
