New Manga Shout Out: 6/27/11 - 7/3/11

Welcome to the next New Manga Shout Out. With the no-raws/scans rule on MH, you have to work a bit to find these mangas. Ichinose, a violin music student, is coming towards a crossroads in his life. He has to decide what to do with his future, but he doesn't feel pulled towards any one particular dream. In the absence of any ambition, he decides to work alongside his mother, who is a piano teacher, and teach violin. But one night, he sees a pretty, sad girl standing barefoot outside an apartment. Usa’s parents were transferred due to their job and he has to live by himself during his new life in high school. He moves into a community house run by a sweet, old lady and starts his new life with his somewhat unusual roommates. Shiro is a weirdo and a bit perverted and Mayumi is hot but gets played by men and loves her booze. He also meets Ritsu who also goes to the same school as Usa and although she is shy and always nose deep in her books, he can’t stop noticing her. Usa fits immediately with the group and starts his new life with his new family.

Azuma Keita just started his life at his new school in the town he just moved to and things are already crazy. The goal of the club is to venture into undiscovered places around their community and find out what truly lies within them. It sounds good on paper, but, in reality, all they do is look into unused buildings that have been over exaggerated. But before he knows it, Keita finds himself very close to the girls and already feels like best friends with them.

Fujimaru Wataru has been moving from job to job since college but has not been able to find a career, but he thinks that is about to change when he lands a job as an assistant to a lawyer. Wataru starts off his first day with a bad impression to his boss, a young female politician named Hara Akira, and her other assistant and who's also her nephew, Mizutani Yuki, but he quickly turns it around by unwittingly gaining the support of an important member of the community. Although he doesn’t remember, apparently, Wataru and Akira were classmates in elementary school and that’s why she decided to give him a shot. However, Wataru learns that if he wants to keep this job, he has to work hard to get Akira re-elected or his position will no longer exist and the competition looks very fierce this year.

Amazingly enough, Mirai and his family moved right next to the sisters and restarting his life again in this town will be anything but mundane for Mirai.

Soft tennis is a sport similar to tennis but instead of a regular ball, it is played with a softer, more rubber ball. At this particular middle school, four good friends are the only members of the team. Asuna, Kotone, Chitose and Kurusu spend whatever time they have playing each other, improving and having fun at the same time. The more time they spend competing against each other, the closer they become as friends.

This is what tethysdust said this week:
Montage was the one that grabbed me this week. It has a really great mystery, and I think the main 'present' character is going to have a good story as well. Lega no 13 also had some interesting art that was somewhat different from the norm.
Here's a note from vyc:
I like some of the series from this week. Once Again - I like this new series. Focuses on politics in Japan but in a comedy way so that you wont get bored and so informational. I really like the plot and feel that it has great potential. Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou - romantic comedy with modern jokes. I really like the humor in this series. There is enough romance to keep those looking for the genre interested but not too much that it will prevent those who don't from reading it. A very good balance and easy read.
My opinion:
I definitely want to check out 87Clockers to see if we can expect the quirky humor we found in Nodame to be here~ As for another good series, Montage sounds like a really good mystery. I'm always up for mysteries and I hope a nice group will scanlate this series.
