New Manga Shout Out: 8/11/14 - 8/17/14

Welcome to the next New Manga Shout Out. This weekly article introduces you to manga that are new and/or have not been scanlated yet. This week features a boy finding love, a girl taking high ranking officer exams, and a genius girl employed to diffuse nitrogen bombs. Remember, if you like any of the series, favorite them. This manga is based on an adult erogame. The main male character is Asaba Yuma, and the story follows the school life he shares with many girls and his one male friend. These girls include Tsukishima Yuri and her twin sister Hanako, who is in the newspaper club, Yuma's little sister Konami, who likes shogi, and several others. Will Yuma find love in his teenage years?

The Katjvarna Empire and the Kioka Republic are at war, and Katjvarna is currently defending their border against Kioka's attacks. Yatorishino is from an influential family in the empire, and she's taking the high ranking officer exams. To make sure she passes at the top, she's convinced lazy, anti-war, girl-crazy Ikuta to take the exams as well and help her, in exchange for a favor from her family. The first, written test goes as planned, and then they head off on a boat for the next. Unfortunately, the boat sinks, and Yatorishino, Ikuta, some other examinees, and a mysterious, important little girl are stranded behind enemy lines!

A terrorist group has declared independence on the South Pole, and they have placed extremely powerful nitrogen bombs off many coasts. They plan to take revenge on the world, by forcing them to live briefly in fear and then die. The US tragically failed to defuse the bombs. There are three of them off the coast of Japan, set to explode in 10 days. Luckily, the Japanese bomb disposal team has a powerful resource.

That resource is a little genius girl, Machida Machiko. She's looked after by Aranagi Nagito, a trainee bomb defuser. She's made a pact with him, and with the leader of the bomb disposal program, to clear out the bombs and clean up the world. After certain events in their first defusing operation, though, it looks like all they'll have left to use is a defusing program written by Machiko. Will they be able to save Japan and stop the powerful terrorists?

This is what tethysdust said this week:
Pact was my favorite this week, though the first volume left some pretty major questions open. It's a very violent story, though, and I'm not sure where the story will go after the 10 days of defusing the bombs around Japan's coast. "Nejimaki..." seems like it could be pretty promising too, with the kids stuck in enemy territory. "Koi ga saku..." was pretty obviously based on a dating sim, so it would be good for people who are into those kinds of stories.

My opinion:
Koi ga Saku Koro Sakura Doki - Graceful Blue - If you like harem-type manga with ecchi thrown in, then this would be a manga you should check out.
Nejimaki Seirei Senki - Tenkyou no Alderamin - If you like a more military-type manga that isn't too realistic, then you may want to read this manga.
Pact - Out of the three, this seems the most interesting to me. Although it's not realistic that a little girl could diffuse the bombs, it may be interesting to see how she does it, and what may become of the other bombs.
