High school boy Konoe Subaru is smart, handsome, athletic, cool and, all in all, close to perfection. Surprisingly however, he serves as a butler to Suzutsuki Kanade. Similar to Subaru, Kanade is also beautiful, brilliant, but extremely wealthy. Subaru’s family has been working as a butler to the Suzutsuki family for generations now and Subaru is no exception.

Sakamachi Kinjiro is the polar opposite from these two admired people on campus: average in every way. But one day, Kinjiro unexpectedly finds out that Subaru is really a girl posing as a guy. Apparently, Subaru must maintain her secret identity for the 3 years in high school in order for her to truly serve as a butler to the Suzutsuki family. Kinjiro comes to learn that Kanade is actually very sadistic and that Subaru isn’t as perfect as everyone thinks she (he?) is.

There is an unknown medical condition that causes wind-up knobs to grow on people’s back. Without periodically winding these up, the people affected with this condition will become immobile and lose consciousness but otherwise live normal lives. The origin behind how people got this condition and any cure are all unknown. Citizens who are infected with this condition are sent to concentration camps and secluded from the rest of society.

Miku lived with her parents, who were both affected by this condition, away from society as they were fugitives of the government. However one day, they are discovered and only Miku was able to escape. Her parents instruct her to seek help from a mysterious boy named Kuro who also has a wind-up knob on his back. Miku departs on a journey that will help her discover the strength of the human spirit.

Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by giants. Giants are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of giants.

Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a giant in over 100 years. Teenage boy Elen and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a super giant that appears out of thin air. As the smaller giants flood the city, the two kids watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive. Elen vows that he will murder every single giant and take revenge for all of mankind.

This is what tethysdust said this week:
"Farmer Mardi" and Tsume Sensou both had a unique kind of style to me. Mardi mostly stuck out in my mind from the artistic style and the weirdness of the story, while the storytelling style in Tsume Sensou stood out.
Here's a note from vyc:
Some original series this week. Shingeki no Kyojin - not your average adventure/hero storyline. The tone of the series is very dark and real. Lots of human drama and pretty horrific scenes. unique plot line will keep you interested for a long time. Mayo Chiki - gender swap, secret identity type story. The comedy and the characters, especially the sadistic girl is super great. Nejimaki Shoukougun - very sci-fi type plot line that has a lot of room to grow. The special powers that is yet to be seen might have people interested. The general lessons the author tries to portray is very positive and i like that.
My opinion:
Angel Para Bellum sounds interesting due to the angel/demon conflict aspect. I'll definitely check out Enigma since it really does sound intriguing and there's a scanlation out~ Nejimaki Shoukougun sounds like an uplifting story. Although OTHELLO reminds me a bit of the one-shot Futagami Double, I'd be interested in checking it out. Tsumitsuki sounds like a dark, but good series. I'll definitely check out the scanlation~
