Takatoki is a high school boy with an intense obsession for manga and anime. He desperately wants a typical anime romance with a girl who falls into a typical female anime stereotype. His childhood friend Chiyoko, a very unladylike girl who is a notorious fighter, tries in vain to get his mind back to reality.

One day, the two of them run into a girl in a sailor schoolgirl outfit being threatened by a generic band of thugs. As Chiyoko beats up the thugs, Takatoki learns that the girl, Asadzuma Youtsugi, is a cosplayer who wants to lead the life of an anime character. Was this Takatoki's fated first encounter with his future anime lover!?

In the near future, a powerful country in the far east collapses, causing many refugees to flee to neighboring countries. Japan is one of those countries and more than 2 million refugees rush to that country, but they are not welcomed with open hands. The Japanese government confines everyone to an island off the coast of Japan and call it “The City.” The City becomes a slum where starvation, murder and sex trafficking is common and the tension between Japan and the City is extremely high.

Hida Riku is a new member of the ACAT, one of the several special forces that were put into place after the refugees fled to Japan, which lead to an influx in crime. Even within the special forces, the ACAT are known for successfully completing even the most dangerous of missions and, at the same time, have an unusually high death rate. Riku gets paired with Akagi Mika, a veteran ACAT women sniper, whose bold moves might get him killed faster than anyone expected.

Sixteen year old Emma finally arrives at the capital city Hawk Eye after escaping from being held captive for her entire life. The sorcerer identifies himself as Shion, one of the youngest and most talented in the nation. They have met before, but Emma has no recollection.

Shion explains to Emma that she is cursed with the Ekidona, a mysterious magic that happens every 500 years where a girl is born with her heart packed with such powerful dark magic that it has the potential to destroy the world. With such power, one could rule the world, and Shion explains to Emma that people are going to try and hunt her down to get her heart. However, Emma is told that there exists a ritual that will rid her of the Ekidona curse but doing so will require a long and arduous process. The first of that being Emma and Shion will have to marry each other...

Nothing really caught my attention this week. Pure Maple Pancake was kind of a cute story, but the premise was pretty standard.
Here's a note from vyc:
Chill - very mature series that has already completed that takes place sorta in the near future but a different time line. Battle between the refugees and the police special unit. Storyline is brilliant and the details are absolutely incredible. You really are missing out if you dont read this. Kangoku Gakuen - at a first glance, it looks serious but the series takes a turn for comedy after a little bit. The concept is funny and the jokes/characters make it even better. Magico - new series on Jump so must be good. Still on the fence whether it will turn out good but the baseline stuff like quality of drawing and general plot line is decent. Will have to keep and eye out to see how the plot develops.
My opinion:
Kangoku Gakuen sounds pretty interesting, like the girls wouldbully the boys. Magico sounds funny, especially how she still has to marry someone afterall...
