Welcome to the next New Manga Shout Out. This weekly article introduces you to manga that are new and/or have not been scanlated yet. This manga seems to be a spin-off prequel of the manga "Himitsu," which is about solving murder cases by using new technology that allows the viewing of memories in dead people's brains. This story occurs years earlier, in 2045, when the technology was just being developed. Ten years earlier, Maki Tsuyoshi's parents died in a fire. Following the fire, he has lived with his legal guardian, Sawamura Satoshi, whose face was burned off saving Tsuyoshi from the flames. Tsuyoshi is certain that his parents were murdered, but he has few clues to help him find their killers. They met with people that evening, but he can't remember their faces, only a certain symbol. That symbol is associated with a powerful secret society at Tokyo University, known as "Premium." Tsuyoshi enters Tokyo University, but he isn't invited to join the society, despite his top credentials. Instead, they invite the more social runner-up Suzuki Katsuhiro to join their ranks. Tsuyoshi approaches Katsuhiro in an attempt to get him to help check out the organization, and the two of them try to uncover what happened on that night so many years ago.

The young girl Yurika and the "metal doctor" Musta travel together. Musta is a robotic doctor that can perform amazing surgeries, and Yurika has a far-seeing eye that she usually keeps under an eye-patch. They live from day to day, making sure to get enough pizza for Yurika and power cells for Musta, and often get into situations that require Musta's skill to solve. For instance, in the first chapter, they come upon a town with a doctor who is slaughtering people in an attempt to successfully graft a robotic arm on a human body. Yurika and Musta can't just pass by and leave the townspeople to this fate!

In this story of Norse mythology, humanity's world of Midgard is caught up in a war between two of two powerful divine races, the Jotunn and the Aesir. Humans can't stand against them, due to the godly 'Megin' power of the divine races. The Jotunn see conquering Midgard as the first step toward attacking the home of the Aesir, and they slaughter many humans along the way. The Aesir step in to rid Midgard of the Jotunn and protect the defenseless humans. One of these Aesir, Thor, made his home base in a certain grateful human town.

In this town lives a young boy named Soah, who lost his parents in a Jotunn attack. He idolizes Thor and dreams of one day becoming strong enough to fight Jotunn and protect people. Thor enjoys Soah's childish enthusiasm, and the two of them share a warm friendship. One day, a Jotunn invading the town uses Soah as a human shield. Thor protects the town, but at the cost of the life of his young friend. Unwilling to let the strong-hearted boy die, Thor bestows his Megin upon Soah and vanishes. After much training, the now-powerful Soah begins to realize his dream, fighting against the Jotunn in Thor's place!

She is amazed in Tokyo by the attitudes towards old and new things, and the strict adherence to the 3 R's (reduce, reuse, and recycle). Also, up until now, she's spent all her free time helping her parents with their tempura shop, and she's excited to finally have time to find out what she wants to do with her life. However, no one told her that to earn her keep, she's going to be expected to help out with her grandma's electric appliance shop! Hatsune starts her new life, attending university and helping out the other employees in their work.

Why is she allowed to stay at her house 24/7 and skip school constantly? Because her brother has an almost stalker-like obsession over her. He will do anything and everything to keep her happy. The odd part is that Sasami's daily routine is to stalk her brother after he leaves the house. Their daily lives are filled with oddly obsessive humor and a lack of sanity.

This is what tethysdust said this week:
The Midgard one was probably my favorite this week. From the first chapter, it has a lot of aspects of a typical shounen, but it looked like it would have an interesting continuing story. Himitsu the Genesis also seemed promising, as a relatively slowly developing mystery (with ~70 page chapters). I got some vibes that it might go a bit shounen-ai, but I haven't read the earlier work (Himitsu), so I don't know if I'm imagining things or not.
