Welcome to the next New Manga Shout Out. With the no-raws/scans rule on MH, you have to work a bit to find these mangas. This is a bit of a strange story involving two regular school girls, Rin and Hiiro, who are best friends. Rin seems to be attracting all kinds of living things like birds and even plants. This “Arashi” series begins 8 months in the future of the Young Animal version, with Nana and Kaoru in the summer of their final year of high school.

The first crush Amanogawa Yu had was 12 years ago to an older woman named Mimisa, a brilliant theoretical physicist, who went to the US for her research. Yu has lost all contact with her since then and practically forgot about her until, one day, Nanana von Fahrenheit appears and claims that she is the clone of Mimisa. Mimisa was working with the US government to create weapons and one of her creations was Nanana, her clone that uses a microchip to control many of the government’s weaponries.

After Mimisa’s death, Nanana took over her research and became curious of Yu, one of the only real friends Mimisa had and decided to observe him as an experiment. However, as Nanana is a top secret government weapon, many anti-US organizations are tirelessly hunting her down.

There is something strange about the new transfer student, Yumeki. She's as lovely as a little doll, and everyone just adores her. This is what tethysdust said this week:
I liked the Hunting of the Snark. It has a lot of Lewis Carroll references in it (as you might guess from the title), but is done in a realistic style. I really liked the characters, and would like to learn more about Keiko's story. Yumeki was pretty disturbing, and I'm kind of bewildered as to where it could go from the first chapter.
Here's a note from vyc:
Pretty good ones this week. The ones that stood out where:
Kamisama no Memo chou - still the first chapter so it is hard to tell how she solves the case but willing to stick along till then. Nanana Universe - adds a bit of a romantic twist to an other wise straight sci fi series. I think it might do well.
My opinion:
The most interesting in this batch seems to be The Hunting of the Snark, probably due to the woman getting revenge bit. XD The description reminds me a bit of Gunjo. The other one that caught my eye was Yumeki. I can't imagine how people would become so obsessed with someone. I'll probably check out the Nana to Kaoru spin-off as well. XD
