16-year-old Sakura Ryousuke lives a relatively ordinary life, but he is disgusted by the unfairness of the world. One evening, he sees a girl dressed up as a 'magic girl,' breaking up a gang beating on one of the toughest guys in school, Shishido Haruo. He soon works out that she is actually his quiet classmate, Kakinoue Suu, and that she and Haruo (and Haruo's little sister) are part of a team that she calls the Akishima Suicide Club. They are dedicated to the death to protecting the city and changing it for the better. Ryousuke joins their team, and the ASC continues risking their lives against the dangerous thugs and criminals.

In these times, the people of Japan chose movie theaters as their escape from the hardships of reality. Imagine this fact: the base salary of a government official was 12,820 yen per year. At the time, a 2 liter bottle of beer was 107 yen, while a movie ticket was 125 yen. Yet, every year, 1 billion people visit the theaters to follow the magic of the movies.

Kudou Takeru, a freshman actor, and Kazama Shinichiro, a freshman director, both delve into this booming industry to pursue what they love. Their ambitions are rooted in a past promise made during the war, a promise of uncompromising pursuit of a "real" cinema. They aim to bring life to the "fake" and glamorous status quo of the cinema industry, by employing what they believe to be the pure form of theater: realism.

She finds herself in a brothel of Edo period Yoshiwara, where she is accepted as a sex worker. Mirai quickly uses her modern-day techniques to rise in popularity to the top of the prostitutes. She makes friends with a girl named Ume, and makes a bitter enemy in the reigning top lady, Maiyuki. Mirai copes quite well as an Edo period prostitute, but will she ever find a way to return to her own time?

My favorite out of the summaries I did would have to be Dera Cinema. If you like historical mangas (especially post-war Japan), this manga looks like a very solid and dramatic manga.

My opinion:
Shiba no Yoru sounds like it might be an interesting manga to see how he transforms their personalities...
