Welcome to the next New Manga Shout Out. Foreign exchange student Alyosha Stalina has been attending a Japanese high school for 3 months. She comes from the nation of Solessia but she is yet to fit in with the other students because of her unfriendly demeanor and cold personality. Rightfully so because Alyosha is a trained assassin that has been murdering people since she was 5 years old. Officials in Estolakia, a country devastated by the attacks from Solessia, found the orphaned Alyosha and trained her as a top notch assassin to work against Solessia.

Her most recent and soon to be last mission is to murder the president of Solessia who is to attend the high school she has infiltrated for 3 months. However, the mission is aborted and she is ordered to remain a student. The only thing Alyosha knows how to do is to be an assassin and has never learned how to be a normal teenage girl. Will Alyosha be able to complete her most difficult mission yet?

Youkai (Japanese monsters) have been living in Kyoto among humans in disguise for several thousand years now. They appear to have normal lives with normal jobs. A place called Urameshi Work is responsible for connecting Youkai with the jobs that suit them. Shikou, the president of Urameshi Work, uses her special powers to find a job that uses a Youkai’s abilities to the fullest. With her assistant Kuuko, Shikou provides occupations that help better both humans and Youkai.

This is what tethysdust said this week:
Koi Ken was pretty cute. The main character seemed like a pretty goodnatured, if awkward, guy. Kiba Kiba was a quick, fun read too, but, at the end, there does seem like a lot of story left that they could expand on. Maybe it will be serialized one day. Execution Girl looks like it could be interesting from the first chapter. The two characters introduced didn't really seem cliched, so I'd like to read more of it sometime.

Two series interested me this week. One was Alyosha. It would be interesting to see how the cold assassin teenager adapts to the life of normality. The other series is Urameshi Work. The idea that youkai live among us and blends in by working is cool. Would like to see what other monsters are disguised among us.
My opinion: Although the art for Alyosha doesn't particularly look that nice, the premise looks interesting: how a high school assassin would deal with school. Glamorous looks like a cute seinen romance, although it might be a bit too ecchi for my taste... :s Koi Ken also looks like another cute seinen romance with some ecchi that I'd want to check out~
