Dive into the dysfunctional world of At Home Romance where people suffer from family complexes. Meet the Morimura family where Ryutaro, the son, has a mother complex with the mother, Akemi, and the older sister, Akiko, has a brother complex with Ryutaro. Imagine a house where Akiko sneaks into bed naked while Ryutaro is still asleep or middle schooler Ryutaro still snuggling next to his mom. The kid’s classmates are just as bad as them, having severe brother and sister complexes.

Surprisingly though, the author does a great job turning a subject that may discomfort many people into a funny situational comedy. The characters in At Home Romance are very ludicrous yet entertaining characters that will keep you smiling as you read through the story.

The year is 2306. Even in the 20th century, mankind has already shown potential to go beyond their Earthen atmosphere. The 21st century brought this potential into full-throttle, as mankind initiated their journey into the universe. Around the middle of the 22nd century, technological advancements in Hyper-Space Navigation and Gravity Manipulation brought about an explosive acceleration in space exploration as every man, woman, and animal scattered all over the universe. We were progressing from an Interplanetary Era into an Intergalactic Era.

With this expansion came with it consequences that we have already seen even from the 20th century: declining birth rates. Scattered all over the universe, humanity needed every man and woman to work constantly to keep up with the expanding empire. B-level and C-level robots were invented to do some of the simpler tasks, but they lacked the ability to do complex procedures. A-level robots were sophisticated enough to do most jobs, but they were extremely expensive and rare to find.

One doctor invented a solution to this problem by creating humanoid animals with the ability to think, talk, and act like humans. This is a story of a Japanese captain of the ship named Blemen and her crew of lively humanoid animals.

The year is 2305 on the colony planet Tinus where the atmosphere conditions are so terrible the inhabitants must wear medical instruments to stay alive. It has been 300 years since humans colonized this planet and the place has become a wasteland. Seventeen-year-old Blue lives in Junk City and through a series of events, acquires a 300 year 1st generation medical instrument robot and is also recruited by Wiser, the head of the Security Police Company (SPC), to crack down on a group of thieves. Blue stops the thieves but soon learns that it was a trap set by the corrupt Wiser to get rid of the “thieves,” who were really good. Wiser and the SPC shoot Blue multiple times who is presumed to be dead.

The 300 year old medical instrument, which Blue named Fautts, is touched by his innocence and combines himself with Blue. With Fautts’s brain power of an experienced computer and Blue’s human compassion, he is reborn as a cyborg. Now Blue must use his new powers to rid the planet of corruption and bring peace to the colony. Cyber Blue is created by the famous Hara Tetsuo, author of Hokuto no Ken (Fist of North Star) and it does not fail to deliver. Most definitely a read for any manga enthusiast.

Inomae (Ico) is a tom-boyish girl who recently transferred to the Saint Stella School. Her new roommates, Shitanaga (Nico) and Shinomae (Mico) are just the kind of girl Ico wants to surround herself with to become more girlish. Ico soon learns from her classmates about a rumored object called the Karisu that grants wishes. It was originally stored in an abandoned church on campus but recently, it has been stolen, much to Ico’s dismay. The three roommates go to the church to investigate the missing object where they meet 2 mysterious figures Siren and Reverse Cross who have the Karisu. However, they escape before the girls have a chance to question them.

Death informs her that she has only 30 days to live and to live life to the fullest until then. No one else seems to be able to see this teenage form of Death and when his predictions about a famous celebrity’s death comes true, Ayumi’s skepticism turns into a real concern. Now, Ayumi only has 30 days to do everything she wanted including having a relationship with Musashi. With a good mix of romanticism and comedy, Kamisama No Iutoori is a great read.

Suzuro is a 14-year-old freelance diver of incredible skill, but only a C-rank due to age restrictions. She works in a salvage ship with her pilot Ginga, who keeps the ship out of flying debris while she's connected to earth, and her assistant Shimugi. It's not only space debris colliding with the ship that could kill Suzuro while diving, there are also dangers waiting on earth that could kill her, just by interacting with her avatar. Suzuro must be certain that the cases she takes are worth the danger!

This is what tethysdust said this week:
Suzuro's log was very fun, I think it's probably the closest to a "hard SF" manga I've read in a while. Time Eliminator looks like a cool premise, if for nothing else than the interesting historical events it will likely feature. There's a bit of nudity and violence, but it's pretty tame, considering the first chapter is about Jack the Ripper.
If you haven't checked out part 1 yet, please go check it out here since I think it has more interesting mangas. ^^;; As for part 2, I'll check out Watashi no Ouchi wa Honya-san when it gets scanlated because of the fact that a girl being surrounded by porn sounds hilarious~ Chimakixxx looks very moe with the cute alien girl and Time Eliminator has an interesting premise (time travel~ I wonder if anything he does in the past will affect his current time). I remember reading Vampire Princess Miyu so I wouldn't mind checking out Vampire Princess Yui if it gets scanlated~
